The Genesis Story: Part 43- God blesses you and He blesses those around you (Helpers)

Bible Reading: Genesis 13

Memory Verse: Genesis 13: 5

And Lot also, which went with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Are you ready for another day? Today, set a scriptural goal for yourself. This is a personal goal. Today aim to read something extra in the Bible. This could be a chapter, a verse or a book. Nothing is too much. This decision should be based on your relationship with God and the time you have available. God’s Word encourages, builds and nurtures; spending even an extra minute meditating on it makes a huge difference. Hallelujah!

Today, we are continuing with our verse- by- verse study of Genesis chapter 13. As I read the book of Genesis more and more, I realise that it is one of the fundamental books of the Bible for every Christian. The book of Genesis highlights all the blessings God has in store for His children. There are so many instances/ situations that are similarly taking place in the world currently; their solutions are also in there. This is a book that every Christian must spend time studying.

Today we are exploring the topic, “When God blesses you, He blesses those around you too!” This verse speaks about Lot. Lot is Abram’s nephew who decided to follow Abram when God called him (Abram). We know that God blessed with a lot of flock, gold and silver. Throughout his journey, Abram needed the help of his nephew in one way or the other. Due to Lot’s service and loyalty to Abram, God blessed him too.

Helping people who have been called by God would allow you to receive a lot of blessings. Be a helper, when Christ came to earth, He was a helper. God blesses helper. That is why people say that God blesses those who clean the floors of the church or those who arrange chairs. Nothing is too small in the eyes of God. He blesses all who willingly make themselves available to be used. This is regardless of whether you are called or not.

My dear brothers and sisters, no matter what work you are assigned in the house of God, do it. Do not be pick. This is not a matter of class or social standing. This is about God. Drop all the over- confidence and humble yourself. It will go a long way to help you. You never know when you will call on God’s name. He may give you your breakthrough based on your diligent service to Him. Love God and do His work wholeheartedly.

Also, when you are doing God’s work, seek for help from those around you. It is not a one-man job. Yes, you may have been called, but God has placed people in your path to help you in your area of weakness. Do not think you can do it alone. Invite people in and be a blessing to others through their help. Hallelujah! For God blesses you and He also blesses them too. Just like in the case of Abram and Lot.

If you are reading Sammie’s Daily Dose for the first time or you were touched by this message, and you will like to invite Christ into your heart; say with prayer with all honesty and sincerity in your heart.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

This walk with God is not only about being called but availing yourself to be used.

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
