Bible Reading: Genesis 19
Memory Verse: Genesis 19:1
The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. When he saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the ground.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? How did you like yesterday’s message? I hope you were reminded to check yourself; at the same time, being encouraged to have patience. Today we will be continuing with Part 64 of The Genesis Story. We will be looking closely at Genesis chapter 19 and verse 1.
In this message, we will be dwelling on the first sentence of Genesis 19- “The two angels arrived at Sodom in the evening, and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city.” Before we go into details, I would like to touch on the ways God visits us (His children). God visits every single one of us. However, He does this in various ways. It is dependent on your personality, level of intimacy with Him and the situation at hand. In verse one (of the chapter in review), God came to Lot through two angels. He can visit you through a song, through scripture, through a friend, a preacher, a family member, a show or and other medium. Most importantly, He also speaks to us directly. The medium God choses is one which He knows would gain our attention. It is always the right one. It is for us to accept and recognize that the words are from Him.
In the first half of Genesis 19, we are told of how Lot and his family were rescued from Sodom; right before God destroyed the city. This is a clear example of God visiting someone at the right place, at the right time. From verse one, we are told that the angels arrived in the evening and Lot was sitting in the gateway of the city. From this we are told two things, the place- the entrance if the city- and the time- the evening. You might wonder, what makes them right?
Well, it is right because that was the place and time that Lot was available. The angels could have come earlier or later; that doesn’t mean that Lot would have been where he was. Also, if they were to have come at another time, they would not have had Lot’s attention. He would have lost the opportunity to be exempted from the destruction. Thus, God comes to the right place at the right time. My dear brother or sister in Christ, do not worry about anything. Do not worry about the upcoming rent deadline? Or the loan repayment? R that next miracle? Continue to trust in God. He will visit you in the right place, at the right time. Just hold on to His word. Hallelujah!
If you are reading this message for the first time, and you would like to have a Father who is there for you at the right time, in the right place; this prayer is for you.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
