Topic: Be careful what you receive!!
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How have you been doing? It has been a long whole since there was a post. A lot has gone down in the past few weeks. I was sick and had to be home a week. Went back to school with a backlog of assignments and quizzes. Guess what? I also had exams. Though that period was very stressful and tiring; God saw me through.
Well, we are in the Christmas season and Christmas is my favourite period of the year. My birthday happens to be in this month, and it is the commemorative period of Jesus’ birth. What are your plans for this Christmas? Do share with us!
In today’s message, we would be looking at a subject which God has laid on my heart for about three weeks. It is about what we open our hearts to receive from various songs, preaching, prophetic word, etc. This is a very dicey topic and I pray that today’s transcript would be exactly how the Holy Spirit directs.
There are many people I know who are always hopping from church to church, pastor to pastor, prayer camps to prayer camps, prophet to prophet, etc. They are in search of a particular answer. Some just want to make sure that they are right with God. Let me make this clear, there is nothing wrong with going for all these programs. They are good. I go for a few myself. The important thing is, “What are you opening your hearts to receive?” This is a very important question we must all answer.
People follow a particular pastor, prophet, apostle, etc. based on many reasons. It could be the popularity of the person, the style of teaching/ gifting of the person, etc. Have you ever gone to a church whereby you assessed the content of the preaching; before going? Many people do not! In Mathew 24:5, the Bible says, “For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many.” We should be careful not to be deceived by the people of this world; who come under false pretenses.
A major point I want to make is that getting closer to God and growing spiritually is not about the number of times you go to church or an all-night service or a prayer meeting; it is the relationship you have with God. This relationship matures when you spend time to know Him and live your life accordingly. This is very a very important message.
This message is not to judge anyone or look down on someone! No! This message is to encourage you and remind you of what you expose your heart to. What you feed your spirit! Whatever you feed your heart is what it would grow to produce! Guard your hearts and be sensitive about what you feed it. The Bible is always available to us. This book contains all the things and information we need. Once you hear any preaching, go back to the Word. Read it and ask God to give you wisdom and understanding.
Be spiritually sensitive! Be full of The Word so that your spirit can be sensitive to the what you receive. Remember to always be careful of what you receive!
God bless you!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
