The Genesis Story: Part 143- In everything, Acknowledge Him!

Topic: The Genesis Story: Part 143- In everything, Acknowledge God!

Bible Reading: Genesis 45

Memory Verse: Genesis 45:5

And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.

God morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? I hope you are doing well, despite recent developments around the world, with the spread of the COVID-19 disease. As we explore Genesis 45 this week, I pray that these messages would encourage you and comfort you as we go through these trying times! God bless you!

Are you ready to read what the Holy Spirit has in store for us today? Well, if you are, let us get right into the message!

Most times, when we are going through difficult or unpleasant times, the first thing we do is panic! Then we are full of fear, very skeptical! Some people begin to blame God for their situation and others go on a marathon seeking God- to solve their problems (as soon as possible). These reactions come about because we let our emotions consume us! As Christians, we must learn to put all our emotions aside; to ensure that we hear clearly from God! Have you wondered why in certain situations, we pray to God and don’t receive the answers immediately? This is because our hearts are full of negative emotions (such as fear, hurt, anger, etc.) These emotions act as a barrier to your prayers. In difficult situations -such as the one we are going through now- we must come to God with a peaceful heart! We can only do this by acknowledging Him! Giving thanks to Him! Let us take a look at Joseph’s story in Genesis 45!

We see in Genesis 45 verse 5 that Joseph acknowledged God! He saw and believed that His ordeal was in God’s plan to save lives! Imagine if Joseph had not acknowledged God’s purpose and plan? How would he have treated his brothers? If I were in his shoes, and didn’t have a clear mind and heart, I would have thrown them all in prison. Some people would have done worse! Joseph’s heart was soothed by God- because he acknowledge God and understood what God's ways. This helped him to forgive his brothers.

God’s presence soothes! As this pandemic continues to unleash its full self, many people are on edge! Fear and panic have captured the hearts of many! I urge you all to acknowledge God during these times! Many people are praying in fear and anguish. Many people are seeking God with an ultimatum! I urge you all to acknowledge God and give thanks to Him! Allow God to soothe your heart and give you peace! This would allow you and I to hear from Him clearly; to do what He wants us to do! If not, you would hear many voices. You may even mistaken a voice for God’s!

In this situation, I know that as Christians we must rise up! Yes indeed! This is the time to rise up! In order for us to be effective and clearly hear from God, we must get rid of all the emotions that have captured the hearts of many! Fear and panic are not from God! Let us stand together and seek God’s face! Let’s come together and get rid of these emotions that are ruling us! Then, let us get a clear direction on how to and what to pray for! Hallelujah!

God bless you! In the same vain, let us remember to be safe and follow the necessary health guidelines that have been made to us by the World Health Organisation and various national health bodies. May God be with you! Amen!

Do reach out to us on our various platforms! Let us come together and seek God's face through this difficult time. If you would like to join us in prayer, reach out and let's rise up! We need each other! God bless you!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out
