Topic: Isaiah’s Truths: Lesson 3- Has God turned His back on us?
Bible Reading: Isaiah 1
Memory Verse: Isaiah 1:15
When you spread out your hands, I will hide My eyes from you; Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear. Your hands are full of blood.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? How has your day been? Another week is slowly drawing to an end! How has your week been? I pray that it has been a great week full of life, joy and peace! Have you read any of the lessons from our new series, Isaiah’s Truths? What were your thoughts on them? Have you learnt a thing or two? Or have you been pushed to consider your lifestyle and thinking? Do share with us! We, at Sammie’s Daily Dose, would love to hear all your thoughts and comments! You can also send through your questions; we would gladly answer them for you!
Today, we are continuing the “Isaiah’s Truths” series with lesson 3. The Holy Spirit wants to draw our attention to a few things! Most importantly, the Holy Spirit wants to draw our attention to the fact that are sin-full nature has consequences- God turning His back on His children! Well, without much ado, let us get right into the message for today!
Over the past few days, we (with the help of the Holy Spirit) have been identifying the various ways that we may have faltered or strayed away from God! We also highlighted the importance of coming back in-line into God’s Will (and purpose) for your life! Today, the Holy Spirit wants to draw our attention to the consequences of our actions!
We serve a Living and Just God! He is willing to forgive all who truly seek forgiveness! In the same vein, He is a Jealous God! He will not let you take advantage of Him! There are some of us, Christians, who take advantage of God’s kindness! We keep living our lives the way we want to, because we know that there is a God who is always forgiving! Also, there are some of us, who know the difference between the right (God’s way) and the wrong (the world’s way). However, we sometimes try to be smart with God! We set conditions and ultimatums to suite our lifestyle! We twist God’s Words so that it suites and conforms to our preferred way of living!
When we continuous do this, we are just creating a wider gap between ourselves and God! Why? Well, our actions show that we do not want to have a relationship with God! We are telling God that living life in our own way is more interesting than conforming to His ways! With that, we have to live with the consequences- He turns His back toward us! This is not the best of situations! Why? This is because the point in time where we really need Him, He would not come through for us! I am not sure that is what any of us want!
Like the verse of the day says, the time where we need Him (when you spread out your hands), He would ignore us (I will hide my eyes from you). The times we call out to Him (even though you make many prayers), He will not answer us (I will not hear). This is the consequence of our decisions! We have stained our relationship with God so badly; that’s what we reap! Let’s look at this scenario! When you are in a relationship with someone (parent, sibling, friend, partner, etc.), and you keep hurting the person -by your actions- the person gets fed up and leaves! A similar analogy applies here! The only difference is that God looks at the heart! When you genuinely seek forgiveness and you show commitment, to building a solid relationship with Him; He forgives us! In a relationship with another person, s/he may not be willing to forgive you!
Today, as we read this message, the Holy Spirit wants us to take a good look at ourselves and make the decision to truly know God (and develop a relationship with Him). All the things the world promises us; God promises us even greater things- in His time! Are we ready to follow His timeline and His plan for us? Think about it!
The Holy Spirit is prompting us of our ways now, because it is time that Christians rise up! God is building His army! He is looking for ready and willing people! Will you called upon to serve? Times are going to get stranger and tougher! But God’s children will be blessed and rewarded! Can you count yourself as part of the blessed! The time to repent and change is now! Hallelujah!

Today’s prayer:
Dear Lord,
I thank you for my life. I thank you for giving me another beautiful day. I ask that you guide me and protect me. I pray that I will choose you in every situation that I face. And that my life will be a testimony and an example to many that I have Christ living in me. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son to die on the cross and wipe my sins away. I lift your name high for you are Alpha and Omega. Amen!
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out
