Scripture Reading: Ruth 1.
Memory Verse for the day: Ruth 1:11
But Naomi said, "Return home, my daughters. Why would you come with me? Am i going to have any more son, who could become your husbands?"
Today's Lesson:
Today we are looking at Ruth Chapter 1. The story of Ruth, apart from Esther, is one of the most popular Bible stories that talks about a strong woman. Well, I would want to turn the light away from Ruth for a while and focus on her mother-in-law, Naomi.
When you read the first chapter of the book of Ruth, we see that Naomi goes through a lot of pain and sadness by the death of her husband and two sons. She moves from having a beautiful family to being alone in a matter of about three years.
The first question that came to mind was “Why do bad things happen to us?” Well, God was reminding me of the scripture that says My plans for you are plans of good and not evil, to give you a future and a hope. God never wants anything bad to happen to his children. He loves us so much. Do you know that when we are sad, God is also sad? It hurts Him to see His children suffer and go through pain. And yet with all this, you might say, He still allows us to go through pain.
God allows us to go through some “bad” things to teach us, but not only that, He does it to guide us, protect us, prepare us and sometimes even draw us closer to Him. Have you ever gone through something so painful, that you were angry at God, but later, you realized that it was the best thing that could have happened? Well, yes. That is what God’s intentions are. To give you the best, but at times He wants us to work hard for it so that we know the value of the great thing He is about to give you.
I am here today to remind you that God loves you. And also to encourage you to be strong in your times of hurt and pain. HE IS GOD and He has something great instore for you. It might be tough and you think that God doesn’t love you or care for you. I am here to say, you are wrong. Our God is about to do mightier things than you can ever imagine. I know it is difficult to just say with words that God has not abandoned you during the tough times, but I pray for every single one of you; that any turbulence that you are experiencing God would see you through. Amen.
Today, I would like us to spend time just crying out to God. Let God know how you feel. If you are angry at Him, let Him know; ask Him question and ask Him to deliver you.
End this prayer session with worship and praise of thanks.
Dear Lord,
I thank you for another wonderful day. I thank you for the Grace and the Mercy you show upon us. Lord I Cry onto you this morning on behalf of all my fellow Christians who do not have the strength to do so. Lord I pray that you strengthen them. Lord I pray that you heal them and comfort them and Lord I ask that you continue to give them a burning desire to know you. I thank you for their lives and their experiences; that it may not only be a blessing to them but to many. In Jesus Name we have prayed with thanksgiving.
Amen
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
