Topic: Isaiah’s Truths: Lesson 15: Honestly, what kind of life are you living?
Bible Reading: Isaiah 5 (ESV)
Memory verse: Isaiah 5: 3
And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge between me and my vineyard.
Hello everyone! Good afternoon! Happy new month! Yes! This is the first day of the new month- February. Wow! January has come by very quickly! We give God all the Glory and Honour! God has been faithful. Despite all that is happening around the world, God has protected us, shielded us from harm, provided us with food, shelter, etc. What an awesome God we serve! What a loving Father we have- despite all our faults He chooses to love us unconditionally. A love that is so big and deep- one can does not fathom. Oh, what a God we serve!
In this blog post, we will be going back to the book of Isaiah- the Isaiah’s Truths series! Today, the Holy Spirit is teaching us about our lifestyle. We would be reflecting on the question, “what kind of life are you living?” The Holy Spirit wants to draw our attention to this because this year, we need to pay particular attention to our relationship with God. Our decisions, actions, words, etc. affect our relationship with God as well. Are you ready? Let us get right into it!
If a random person lived with you, can they tell you are a Child of God through your lifestyle? Your actions? Your attitude? Your actions? Your character? Your patterns and way of life? How about the people your colleagues at school or work? Do they notice the difference? Do they now your values? What are the things they know and can vouched that you will never do or be a part of? You might ask to yourself, “Why does it matter?” Well, it matters because you are an instrument for God’s work! He is molding you to become like Christ to make a difference in this flesh-ridden world! So yes, it is important how you live your life! If you are growing in Christ, it must show in everything you do!
You see, it is just not good enough to say that you are living a good and decent life. Why? Well, the standard is not the world. The standard is Christ, who came to the world as flesh and lived without sin. Yes, He is the standard! With this, reflect on your lifestyle, with Christ as the standard, how do you think you fair? You must be real with yourself! Guess what? You have no excuses! Why? Well, God has given us all the things we require to live and become Christ-like to fulfill the purpose He has for us in Him.
Just like our memory verse for the day says, “…judge between me and my vineyard.” God is not going to judge us based on the world’s standards but by Himself as Christ who came on earth as flesh. Christ was like you and I. He went through all the pressures that you and I face. That’s why the God we serve is Mighty and Powerful. He understands us from different dimensions.
He understands us by being the Father we need; to give us direction, provide all our needs (and more), protects us, support and encourage us, by being God the Father. He understands us by being a friend. As a friend, He empathizes with us. He is our biggest cheerleader. He laughs with us and cries with us. How? As God the Son who came down to earth as man- He knows and understands what you go through because He went through similar. Lastly, God understands us by being a Helper and a Teacher. He knows that there is a lot we do not know. He knows that we cannot be left alone to navigate this world. He knows we need the strength to go on! He, as God the Holy Spirit, understands that we as humans are adaptable and vulnerable, so He is with us 24/7. Our very own personal hotline! What an awesome God we serve! He continues to blow my mind each day. Wow!
As we begin a new month, spend some time reflecting on yourself. What kind of life are you living? In this post, we would not outrightly list all the things you must work on, but as you make that decision in your heart, the Holy Spirit would draw your attention to all these. It not too late! God has not given up on you (and you shouldn’t give up on yourself)! Just go to Him for help because He knows, and He understands. He is just waiting for you to come and ask! God has something great in-store you! You have something great in-store for the world. And guess what? He has put everything inside of you to achieve it! He has given you all the resources and help you need through His Word and through the Holy Spirit! Hallelujah!
Make a conscious decision to start living a Christ-like life. It is not a one-day wonder! With consistency and the right heart, you will see the beautiful things God will do!
God richly bless you! Thank you, God, for victory!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
If this is your first-time hearing about Christ, or you have made the decision to make Him the center of your life, kindly say this prayer with all sincerity and truth.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. You get to enjoy the freedom, salvation, and eternal life! Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word, day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
