Bible Reading: Ruth 2
Memory Verse: Ruth 2:22
Naomi said to Ruth her daughter-in-law, “It will be good for you, my daughter, to go with the women who work for him, because in someone else’s field you might be harmed.”
Good morning everyone! I hope you had a great night! The Ruth Series continues today with the 9thepisode. We are looking at the Protection of God. I want to say thank you for allowing your hearts to be filed with God’s message. I hope you are enjoying the journey so far. I know I am. It has been a very exciting and thought provoking journey, and it’s just the beginning. Can you imagine what’s going to happen as we move along? Awesome!
The Protection of God! Yup, this is one of the things that as Christians we over ride. We think that we think it’s normal to wake up every morning. We think it is normal to sit in a car and move from one place to another. It is normal to stay at home, protected by our locked gates and electric fences on our high walls. This is a mentality a lot of us must desist from. All these that you are enjoying is from the protection of God.
A lot of Christians when asked to give a testimony are quick to say “ I haven’t received a testimony yet.” Well you have. The fact that God protected and watched over you throughout the night and gave you life, is a testimony. Once you confess that you are child of God, do you know how jealous the enemy gets? Do you know the plans the enemy has to destroy your life? But God protects you because He is not done with you yet.
Even when you think you are going through the most horrible of times, He protects you. Yup!! Believe or not, He is. Through your trials, He does not bring harm your way. Don’t get me wrong, during certain trials you feel pain and hurt but God protects you from harm’s way. Think about it. You’ll see that it’s quite true. He loves you way too much to see you get harmed.
Looking at Ruth chapter 1 and 2, you will see that God protected Ruth and Naomi throughout their trials. In chapter 2, we see God protects their every step and ensured that Ruth work at a specific field so that she will not be harmed. That’s how great our God is. Even through all the backlash He received from Naomi about how He had abandoned her. He still protected her. He is an understanding God and knows our hearts. He knew that Naomi was talking from a place of pain because of the trials she was going through.
But this kind and understanding God is now being taken for granted. Christians no longer thank God for His protection. Most times they think that it is obligatory as a child of God. I’m sorry to say! It is not obligatory! It is as though you are saying it is obligatory for your parents to give you the things you want or send you to school.
Prayer Points:
Ask God for forgiveness.
Ask God to keep you a new understanding
Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Thank God for His protection over your life.
Praise Him for He still protects you even though he is not obliged to.
Today’s prayer: Dear Lord,
Thank you for another day. Thank you for the gift of life. I give you all the praise, glory and honour. Lord use me today. Help me to be a blessing in the lives of the people I meet today. Guide me and protect my going outs and my going ins. I lift your name high up for you are Alpha and Omega. I love you Lord. In Jesus Mighty Name I have prayed.
Amen.
Remember to thank God for protecting you in every aspect of your life; no matter how small it is. God is not obliged to protect us but because of His undying love for us, He does. That’s the most loving and thoughtful thing anyone can do for you.
Have a lovely day and let God inspire you.
