The Genesis Story: Part 16- Are You Recognised by God?

Bible Reading: Genesis 5 Memory Verse: Genesis 5: 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters. Good evening everyone! How was your day? To all my Ghanaians friends, tomorrow is a holiday; I am sure we are all very excited about it. At my church, this week is youth week. The youth week is dubbed Love and Fellowship. This reminded of something and I wanted to share really quickly. It is related to what was shared yesterday on the Weekend Special. So yesterday we learnt about the importance of love, we learnt that we must love ourselves then love our neighbors as yourself. When I went for today’s activity I was reminded of how loving our neighbors is a form of fellowship. Today, we established that fellowship is basically fellows on a ship. It is where people with same mindsets and beliefs are reaching for one goal. In our case, we are all Christians and our goal is to go to heaven to be with our Father, so to be able to do that you need love. Love would help the fellowship grow because love would bring us together and teach us how to be together. Hallelujah! So I am here once again to stress on love. Love yourself and love your neighbor. Hallelujah! Moving on, today’s message is the sixth Part of The Genesis Story. How have you liked the journey so far? I have been blessed by your feedback, questions and encouragement. Thank you very much and God richly bless you for supporting God’s work; He will surely reward you. So today we are exploring the topic of becoming vessels of God. So when I was reading Genesis 5 once again to write this post, I came across the memory verse. Have you noticed something in this verse? Hmm… Have a look once more. Have you noticed it now? What intrigued me was that was that the Bible mentions only Seth’s name and then collectively said sons and daughters. Is that not surprising? It was weird for me because I know the Bible to give the genealogy of people. So I went back and read the verse once again. I read the verse like three or four times. I was asking God, “why was it collective?” “Why didn’t you mention their names?” Then God told me that they were not vessel for Christ. They were not recognized by Him. I was like wow! That’s something huge and deep. God said that He did not recognize them. Wow! I hope you can see the gravity in the answer God gave. He said that He did not recognize them. Wow! Praise God for revelation!! So I was going to title this message “Be a vessel for God!” When I started writing, God told me to change it to the present title; “Are you recognized by God?” This is a very important question we must all answer for ourselves. In Romans 8: 14, the Bible says “For all who are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” Hallelujah! Are you led by the Spirit? Yes you. You reading this message. Are you led by the Spirit? Are you recognized by God? if the answers to both answers are no, it is very said and worrying. If that is so you become part of a public agenda. You become part of this world. You are ordinary. When God recognizes you. He lifts you up and makes you an extraordinary person. So the question at hand now is “How am I led by the Spirit?” Awesome question! To be led by the Spirit first of all, you need to have an open heart. When that happens the Spirit can mold you to become whatever He wants you to become. Most importantly, you must be prepared to go into the wilderness. Take a look at Revelations 17: 3. It says “And he carried me away in the Spirit into a wilderness,..” In Matthew 4:1, it also says “Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.” The Holy Spirit does not send us into the wilderness for our downfall. No. He takes us there to teach us some very important lessons. He also uses it as a ground to test us. Wilderness in this case does not mean the literal world, but it is signifying a period of difficulty and turmoil. Just that when the Holy Spirit does this He is training you on the path to know Christ and be recognized by God. Would you like to be recognized by God the Father? Would you like to receive all the blessings He has in store for all His sons and daughters? Then you must take the bold step to accept Christ into your hearts. If you are willing to make this bold step, kindly repeat this short prayer with all sincerity in your heart. Dear Lord, I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen. If you said this prayer, congratulations! You are now part of God’s family. Heaven is jubilating by your welcome. Hallelujah! You have been given new life. Hallelujah! You are already walking in eternity. To do so, I would encourage you to get yourself a Bible- in a version that you understand. Read it constantly. By doing this, you would be able to know and understand God better; as well as grow Spiritually. I will encourage you to find a Bible- believing church to attend, so that you can fellowship with other Christians. Now you are child of Go, you are a step closer to being recognized by God. Half of the job has been done. Now you must open your heart to the Holy Spirit. Youll be able to do this through constant Bible study and fellowship. To my fellow brothers and sisters in Christ, I urge you to make the decision for God. renew your faith, then open your heart to the Holy Spirit. I pray that God gives you the strength and Grace to be able to be led by the Holy Spirit. Amen. So the important first step you make to completing the journey of being recognized by God is by answering this question: “Are you recognized by God?” - Have a wonderful evening and let God inspire you! Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I pray that you protect me and my family this day. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. This is the end of the sixteenth part of the Genesis Story. How did you find it?
