Does Praying For Others Mean Loving Them?

Good evening everyone! Hope you are all having a wonderful day so far? Today we are still exploring the loving others. Like you, I was expecting Part 21 of the Genesis Story. God is emphasizing greatly on love. This message is going to be a short one, hopefully. We are going to be looking at praying for others. Yup!

I want to use this opportunity to thank you all for always spending time to read Sammie’s Daily Dose. God bless you for reading each day and allowing the Holy Spirit to speak to you. Thank you for availing yourself to the Holy Spirit to be lead and transformed. Let’s delve straight into the message.

Anytime I go for all- nights or prayer meetings, there is something peculiar I notice. I am sure you have noticed this or even practice this. Anytime we are asked to pray for someone, we pray lightly and in low voices. When it comes to personal prayers, everyone is charged up. Eih!! When it comes to personal prayer, people jump and shout and kick. Immediately it is someone else, people either sway or move from side to side. Then when the pastor announces that if you pray God would bless you more. Then the fire starts.

Even when we try to praise God our human nature fights its way in. God is telling us that we must not be practicing this. Praying for others is part of loving others. And like the greatest commandment says in Mark 12 that we must love our neighbours as ourselves.

Imagine that there was some gossip spreading around in town. You and your friends would gather together and discuss it. Through the sharing of the gossip, you will even make friends from the neighbourhood. This is how we are supposed to relate with our neighbours; with so much excitement and zeal. We are to meet and grow each other whilst at the same time blessing more people.

This message is supposed to encourage you to drop the act and pray for others like you would for yourself. It is part of loving your neighbor as yourself. As I have mentioned in previous messages, as humans our greatest battle is the fight against the flesh. It is a very dangerous and tactical war which can be won.

As you grow in Christ, He will begin to show you more and more things that have influences of the flesh. Did you ever know that our prayers for others had influences from our flesh? This battle is not an easy one but it is possible to be the winner with God’s help and a conscientious habit. So now let us all pray for others like we are praying for ourselves. By doing this you would be achieving the greatest commandment God gave to us. Hallelujah!

To be able to achieve the greatest commandment and receive God’s blessings you must be a child of God. Are you interested in becoming a child of God? If your answer is yes, kindly repeat this prayer.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I ad
