Bible Reading: Genesis 7
Memory Verse: Genesis 7: 18 (KJV)
But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons’ wives with thee.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. How are you? I have missed you all. How have you enjoyed this past series- Writers of the Gospel? Did you enjoy it as much as I did? Did you experience new writing styles like I did? I hope you were blessed by them. Thank you for patronizing all those great messages God bless you. Guess what? This series is not done. From time to time, I would be posting more pieces from other writers and messengers from God. Stay tuned!!!
Today, we are going to continue with the Genesis Story. Yup! We are going to look at the Genesis 7 for Part 23 of this Series. We are going to look at the Covenants that we, Christians, have with God. One might ask how this covenant is relevant to us since God made it with Noah. Well, now that we are in Christ, this covenant applies to us. It was a covenant Christ made with Noah for his children. He was a representation of the children of God. For example, when there is a conference going on, a representative from your class or workplace is chosen to represent the class or office as a whole. The covenant is in the same way.
A background to the covenant was that God became sad about the extent to the sinful nature of man. God reached a point where He regretted creating man. He decided to wipe out the whole human race with the source of this sin. God made a covenant with Noah that He (God) would exempt him (Noah) from this destruction. Not only did God protect Noah but his whole family. This is the first of the two covenants God had with Noah. After He wiped out the earth, God made another covenant. In that covenant, He promised not to destroy the earth. We would go into details in a couple of days to come.
Today’s message is a reminder to all of God’s children. It is to remind us that God loves us so much that He is exempting us from all destruction. Destructions caused by Him and those that are not caused by Him (Luke 1:74). We are going to see a representation of this covenant in Moses’ time when God killed all the first born sons of the Egyptians.
This God we serve is too GGOODD!! Words are not enough to describe how wonderful and awesome He is. He has stuck to this covenant from the day He made it and He is still continuing to honour His Words. My dear brother or sister in Christ, this is not the time for you to fret in fear for your life; for God has made a promise to you that you are protected. He has done it several times for several of His children, why would He single you out. He loves us so much. The love He has for us is unfathomable because there is not a situation where God loves one person more than another. But then His love for each and every single is person the love your parents show you multiplied by infinity. This kind of love does not make sense nor does it have an end (if you are His child).
Christians, stand up on the words of this covenant and be strong. Press on and let’s continue to do the work of God. Let us rise up and be the warriors God has called us to be. The wonderful thing about this covenant is that it covers you and your family. Remember I spoke about interceding for your family. That message was Part 21 of the Genesis Story. If you have not read it, please find time to. It is a very necessary message. That message applies here. The beautiful thing about this covenant is once you are a child of God, your family automatically get to benefit from this covenant. Is that not amazing? Regardless of the spiritual status of that member of your family, s/he gets to benefit from this covenant. What an awesome God we serve. Every time I discover something wonderful God has done, I am so amazed and awed by Him. I always get carried away speaking about how wonderful and awesome He is. Words cannot describe the feeling. Hallelujah!
If you have read this message and you want to be part of this awesome family of God, kindly repeat this short prayer:
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
I know this message is quite long, but I hope you have been inspired by it. All I would like to encourage you to do, is to, stand strong for God. Make that decision today (right now) that you will serve God whole-heartedly and you will allow Him to use you. Do not be afraid, He has given you everything you need.
Have a wonderful evening and let god inspire you!
