Bible Reading: Genesis 7
Memory Verse: Genesis 7:1 (KJV)
And the Lord said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing this morning. Since you woke up have you thank God for your life and for the other wonderful gifts He has given to you? If you haven’t, please spend a few minutes doing so. I want to use this opportunity to say thank you for your continuous patronage of Sammie’s Daily Dose. God richly bless you all.
This message is Part 24 of the Genesis Story. This message was supposed to be sent out yesterday but I was not able to post. Today, Sammie’s Daily Dose would have 2 postings- Part 24 and Part 25.
Please one more thing I would like to draw your attention to. Yesterday’s verse and Bible Reading was not from Genesis 7, instead Genesis 6. Sorry for the wrong information. I would do well next time to always cross reference all the Bible Verses that I used. It was a slip.
Today, we are looking at Genesis Chapter 7, with a greater look at verse 1. Before we delve into this message, I would like you to answer this question. “Are you righteous in God’s eyes?” This must be answered truthfully and personally. Take a look at yourself. Your actions. Your walk with Christ. Can you say that you are righteous in God’s eyes?
To start this message, I went to look for the meaning of the word RIGHTEOUS. From the Oxford’s advanced learner’s dictionary, the word righteous means morally right and good. The dictionary used the word moral. Moral means that you have principles that help you know or determine what is right and what is wrong.
When God told Noah that he (Noah) had been righteous before Him, God was saying that Noah had the ability to choose what was right by Him. This is not always an easy task. But from this line in the verse, I realized two things. The first thing I realized was that God sees what we do and appreciates us for what we do for Him. The second is that if we go out of the odds to do something for God, He would go out of His way to do something for you.
Let us take a look at the first one. The memory verse says, “… for thee I have seen righteous...” This shows us that God sees everything that each and every single one of us do. When we do something for His Glory and Honour, He appreciates us. One way God appreciates us is through His blessings. That is why even when we do something little (in man’s eyes) for God, He blesses us with so many things. It is His way of appreciating what you and I are doing for Him. God blessed Noah and his family for being righteous by excluding them from His destruction plan of the earth.
The second is that when we go out of our way to do something for God, He would go out of His way to do something for you. Do you not think that when God wanted to destroy the earth, He wanted to destroy every single human being? Yes, He did. God remembered Noah and his family because of what Noah might have done for Him. God being so loving; He went out of His way for Noah as well. This is why at times when you are going through trial or battle, we are encouraged to remind God of the righteous things we have done. We are to remind Him of all the good work we have done for Him. This is because when you go out of your way to do something for God. He also does the same for you. Is God not a wonderful and awesome father.
If it were our earthly parents, they would not always so this for us. There are times that we go out of our way to help them with certain stuff. However, they never do anything in return. This is not how our heavenly Father is. He blesses in giant folds. He’s just awesome.
If you have read this message and you want to have an awesome Father like I do; kindly repeat this prayer with all sincerity:
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
I would like to urge you to prepare your hearts for Christ to settle in. The time living a grey life is over. The time to stand up for Christ is now. The battle against the flesh and the enemy is intensifying each day. God is looking for people to use. Would you be one of them?
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
