The Genesis Story: Part 25- Are We Doing All or Some?

Bible Reading: Genesis 7

Memory Verse: Genesis 7: 5 (KJV)

And Noah did according unto all that the Lord commanded him.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Hope you all had a wonderful day at work/school/ home. I had a great day at school today and I am very thankful and grateful to God for this opportunity to have amazing friends and family around me. What are you thankful to God for? Have you said thank you to Him today? He had done so much in your life. The least you can say is thank you. Please take a few minute to just say thank you to God for even the small things happening in your life.

This message is Part 25 of The Genesis Story. Slowly, we are moving along in this awesome journey of knowing and encountering God. In today’s message, I would like each and every one to be honest with themselves. We would looking at our “obedience levels.” Using the phrase “obedient levels” is just to get you thinking about depth and magnitude of your obedience to God’s Word. Anytime God tells you to do something, do you do everything He tells you to do or you begin and stop midway.

In Genesis 7, we see the instructions God gave Noah about the ark and the number of animals and birds that must be taken along. From our memory verse, which is taken from verse 5 of Genesis 7, the Bible tells us that Noah did everything that God had commanded him to do. The Bible uses the word “all”. The word all in the Oxford dictionary means the whole quantity. This means that Noah carried out God’s request- the whole quantity (in literal terms).

The question I would like to ask you is, “Have you been able to achieve this?” Today’s message is aimed at encouraging but most importantly urge people to reflect on their current situation with Christ.

As humanly as we are, when God assigns tasks for us to do, we begin them. When we see that what we are doing is giving us an increase (in terms of money, power, tec.), then we forget God’s assignment and do what we want to do. I am sure you have done this or you know someone who has done same. This is a very bad thing to do. The moment we do this; you have given way to the flesh. This is sinning. Like we have established in previous messages, the greatest battle we Christians have is the battle against the flesh. Most of the times, we give in to our flesh without realizing it because of our sinful nature. This is wrong; that’s why God sent His Son to die on the cross for us.

When you fulfill the task Good has given into detail, that is obeying Him. God then blesses you in return. The blessings God has in store for His children are many. Doing God’s work, is also a public declaration that you are for Christ- just as baptism by immersion is a public declaration in the spiritual realms that you are a child of God. Do not be shy of what people might say about what you are doing for God. This task is not easy because it is discouraging and disheartening to hear what people say about Christians. What I would encourage you to do is to remember the reason for what you are doing. Let the mission of spreading the gospel be your main aim. This is because following God’s word completely has many blessings connected to it. Hallelujah!

If you are not a child of God and you have a strong desire to know Him, kindly repeat this prayer with all sincerity;

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

Brothers and sisters in Christ, I would like to encourage you to keep up the good work that you do already for Christ. Now I would like you to go the further step and serve God solely. This is a difficult task but an achievable one. With God’s Grace, we are conquerors of the flesh. So the question now is, “Are you ready for the next level of intimacy with God?” Answer this question sincerely and evaluate it. Take action, no matter the answer you received.

  • Have a wonderful evening and let God inspire you.
