The Genesis Story: Part 35- Mighty Hunters Before The Lord!

Bible Reading: Genesis 10

Memory Verse: Genesis 10: 9

He was a mighty hunter before the Lord: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the Lord.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Happy New Month everyone! Today, I would like you all to spend time giving praises to God. He has seen you from the beginning of the year still now. Some people did not live to see this day. Go has protected and guided you until now; give Him all the glory, honour and adoration. Thank Him for everything He has for you so far and for what is about to happen before the year ends. I tell you, before 2018 ends something huge is coming your way in Jesus Name. I have claimed it. You should too. God is going to lift up and magnify Himself in all who have diligently walked by Him and call Him their Father. Hallelujah! My song of praise is ‘We give you Glory” by Don Moen. What is your song of praise? What song is going to be at your lips the whole day?

In today’s message, we would be looking at being hunters before the Lord. This can be taken in two context- the physical context and the spiritual context. Let us look at the first context, which the physical one. The hunter is being used to represent careers/ professions. During the times this story was written, hunting was one of the prime jobs available. Here, God is using it as a symbol for all careers. He is telling us to put our careers before Him and trust and fear Him. This is because God has the ability to make or break your career. Do you think that your recent pay check or your recent promotion is by your work? No. it is by the unwavering Grace of God. Yes! Hard work is important but what is more important is God. Have you dedicated your business to God? If not, why not? He is the key ingredient for your business.

God is also telling us to put our future plans or career goals in Him. He is author and finisher of all things. Also remember that all things work together for our good to give us a future and a hope. If God says a particular plan is not right for you, He knows what He is saying.

Looking at the spiritual part of this, God is telling us of how we must handle the enemy. God is telling us that we must be very aggressive. We must literally hunt the enemy down, if not he will hunt us down. We must not give the enemy any space or any chance to come to affect our lives.

In Matthew chapter 11 verse 12, the Bible says that since the days of John the Baptist until now, the Kingdom of Heaven suffers violence, and the violent take it by force. We are to use force to “take back” the kingdom of God. Here, once again, God is telling us to use force to get back what is ours as Christians. This is because the enemy’s sole aim is to kill and destroy God’s kingdom. We must “hunt” them down so that God’s people will prevail. This is why God has fully prepared us for the battle with the full armor of God. So we must use these tools to stop the enemy’s agenda.

Do you want to be part of God’s family? Kindly repeat this prayer with all sincerity in your hearts.

Dear Lord,
