The Genesis Story: Part 37: A Land He Shall Shew Thee.

Bible Reading: Genesis 12

Memory Verse: Genesis 12:1

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee.

Hello everyone! Good evening! How are you all doing? How was your day? Did you put a smile on someone’s face? Did you spend some time with God? Yesterday, I was thinking about a friend. He used to be a party person; since he gave his life to Christ, his life has changed. He no longer goes for parties. He sensors the places he goes, the things he listens to and the things he sees. I realise that when you come into Christ, He changes you. You no longer appreciate the things you used to enjoy. He would teach you to be the best version of you. This can only happen when you allow the Holy Spirit to fully take control. This is not an easy thing to do. The battle against our will and God’s will is not an easy one. A lot of people stay in this phase because they do not know how their lives would be without their friends or the other worldly things they are used to. This leads a lot of people in depression. If you are going through a similar situation, I just want to encourage you and let you know that by God’s help you would be able to overcome this. But you have to be willing to allow the Holy Spirit to take control.

Sammie’s Daily Dose is changing! There are so many exciting things in the pipeline. By the Grace of God, we would be doing them soon. Don’t forget about our 100thpost is coming up soon. To celebrate Sammie’s Daily Dose would run a special series dedicated to you called The Testimony Series. In this series, I would be posting feedback from you, lessons you have learnt from the daily post, how these posts have affected your life and many more. Do not be left out in this special series; send in all of the above and more. Remember to add your email address to the message that you send. God bless you. Remember to let people know about Sammie’s Daily Dose. To make this celebration an even bigger one, let’s post on our various social media platforms #TheTestimonySeries. Let us all come together and celebrate what God has done.

Moving on to today’s message, we would be taking a closer look to Genesis chapter 12 and verse 1. We would be talking about our land. Yes! Do you know that God has prepared a land for you? Yes! He has! In this case, we are not talking about physical land (well in some cases it is). Your land is your ministry. Your land is what God has given to you to perform His works. Your land is the gift God has given you. Every one’s land is different.

You will notice in this verse, how the Bible is telling us to leave our Father’s house to the land that God will give us. This means that everyone has their own land to till and take care off. This cannot be done in “Your Father’s House” or “Kindred” because of the aspect of control. When you are living with your father, you will be under his control. He dictates all you have to do. When you move away from your father’s house, you lose that humanly control over your life and allow God to have control you. The reason the Bible tells us of this is so that we minimize the amount of humanly influence we can get which can reduce our focus and work on our land.

Our land has been given to us based on our strengths and gifts. We must spend our lives focusing on tending to our land. Your land could be your marriage, it could be your education, it could be being a preacher man or woman in a church. Moving away from others, not only allows you to focus on your land but also to focus on your land. It will help you to identify your land. Finding your land is sometimes not an easy thing. You have to listen to God and allow Him to lead you. This cannot be done when you are surrounded by earthly influences and opinions.

The question now is “Are you ready to till your land?” “Are you ready to find out what your land is and focus on it?” If your answer is yes, then I would encourage you to pray and open your heart for God to speak to you and fill you. This does not mean physically mean leaving your house but it means leaving all other influences from around you. Are you ready for this?

Would you like to till your land? Will you like to be filled with the peace and tranquility from a loving Father? If yes, then kindly say this prayer with all sincerity.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful evening and let God inspire you!
