Reading: Genesis 14
Memory Verse: Genesis 14: 14
And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? How has your day been today? Today’s message is Part 46 of the Genesis story and we would be focusing on the topic- “Are you willing to fight for your fellow Christian?” We are going to take a look at Genesis chapter 14.
In this part of the Genesis story, all of Lot’s possessions had been taken from him. Also, Lot was captured. Abram, Lot’s Uncle, upon hearing the news of his nephew dropped everything, gathered all the man power he could find and went out to search for his nephew.
From this story, the one question I have to ask you is, “Are you willing to use all your resources for a brother or sister?” This question might seem very irrelevant; however, it is a very important question for Christians to answer. As Christians, we must look out for our fellow brothers and sisters. We must offer our help to them and be willing to defend them.
The question of “why to defend other Christians?”, comes up when this situation is brought up. From the previous post, we saw that all Christians inherit a huge land. Together, we must work together to till the land and make it green. All in all, our mission in Christ is the same- spreading the Gospel. We must help each other to ensure that we can achieve this mission. This includes defending your brothers and sisters in Christ.
As Christians, we must fight from a united front. This walk is not easy. The world is against us. When one of us (Christians) need our help or face any trouble (from the world), we must be willing and ready to support; to show our united front. This is because being a Christian entail showing love, peace and kindness to others no matter the circumstance.
Unfortunately, a lot of Christians are very self- centered. They are not willing to help other Christians out whether they have the resources or not. This is not supposed to be so. Christians do not be selfish. Help others in their dire most needs and in times of trouble and this can be an avenue for God to bless you. This walk with God is not always easy. We must all be together to help each other and encourage each other out! It is essential.
I end by asking once more, “Are you willing to defend your fellow Christian?”
If you have been blessed by this message and you will like to have people who are readily available to defend you or help you in your times of need; kindly say this prayer with all the sincerity in your heart.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
