The Genesis Story: Part 58- God's Pre-Conditions!

Bible Reading: Genesis 17

Memory Verse: Genesis 17:1

When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to him and said, “I am God Almighty; walk before me faithfully and be blameless. Then I will make my covenant between me and you and will greatly increase your numbers.”

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Hope you are doing well. Today, I enjoyed myself by dancing and singing to God. I was feeling stressed and scared about an issue. What I was reading wasn’t sticking. I put my books away and started praising God. It became clearer.

Today’s episode is the fifty- eighth Part of The Genesis Story. We are going to look at Genesis 17; specifically verse 1. We are looking at the title, “God’s Pre-conditions!”

From the verse under question, we see that God tells Abram 2 things that he (Abram) must do in order for Him to bless him. These were walking before God faithfully and being blameless. I call these 2 things God’s pre-conditions. God is telling us the requirements He has in order to have a covenant with you and I. Mind you, God has never failed on His Word.

There are many times I see people complain about God not fulfilling a part of a bargain. What I wonder is if they have fulfilled their end. God does not lie. His Yes is a Yes and His No is a No. When you are requesting for something from God or claiming the covenants of God (through inheritance as a spiritual decent of Abram), the first thing you have to check if you are fulfilling God’s pre-conditions.

When you decide to become a Christian, there are certain things and instructions God gave us to abide. If we follow them, we would be able to experience God to the fullest. If we don’t then we begin to doubt God because we think He has caused a problem. Meanwhile, it is our own fault.

To end this message, don’t go blaming God! Check to see if you are doing everything God has told you to do. God bless!

If this is the first time you are reading Sammie’s Daily Dose, or you have the strong urge to ask God to come and be your Lord and personal Saviour; kindly repeat this prayer with all sincerity.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
