Bible Reading: Genesis 17
Memory Verse: Genesis 17: 17
Abraham fell facedown; he laughed and said to himself, “Will a son be born to a man a hundred years old? Will Sarah bear a child at the age of ninety?”
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? I am posting a second article because I missed one yesterday. Today, I decided to give a double dose. We are continuing our journey with Genesis 17. We would be taking a closer look at verse 17; focusing on the topic of Doubt.
When we look at verse 17 of Genesis 17, we see that Abraham laughed to himself and doubted what God had told him. God told him that Sarah, his wife would bear a son for him. The question is “Do you doubt God in certain aspects of your life?” “Why do you doubt God?” “Do you trust Him?”
The questions posed above are very important questions that we all must answer. I know there comes a time when nothing is possible using human logic. Look at Abraham and Sarah’s situation; Sarah could not give birth. She was ninety when God told Abraham that she was going to give birth. Human logic could not possibly comprehend this. Why? Well, we all know that a female cannot conceive after she reaches a certain age. Sarah was way past this age. It would have been physically impossible and scientifically impossible. However, these are the circumstances in which God reigns.
As humans, when we get to such a state; we begin to doubt God. This is our natural reaction due to our sinful nature. At this stage, it is a battle of the mind. You have to conscientiously tell yourself to not doubt. This is where a lot of people’s faiths are tested. Can you trust God to do a miracle?
At one point or another, we all doubt the ability of God because what we asked Him to help us with was not delivered at the time or in the manner with which we wanted. We get disappointed and our hopes get crashed. In this emotional state, the enemy gets the opportunity to implant certain ideas in your head such as doubt. When we are in doubt, not only are we battling ourselves, but we are also battling with the enemy.
I am here once again to remind you to undoubtedly trust God. This might be difficult because as humans we want to feel like we are in control. Remember, as Christians, we are now in Christ. God is in control. Everything works in God’s timing for your good because He knows the good from the bad. However, we want things to work in our timing because we think it is for our good. We even struggle to differentiate between right and wrong.
With God help, you can do it- you can live a stress-free- for Christ. Are you ready? Is this a decision you want to make? If you are already a Christian and you would like to have undoubted faith in God, go back to Him in prayer and ask Him to help you. He would surely do this for you.
However, if this is the first time you are reading about such a message and you would like to be a part of God’s family; kindly say this prayer with all sincerity.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you
