Bible Reading: Genesis 18
Memory Verse: Genesis 18: 1
The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day.
God evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Hope you are blessed. Today, we are continuing The Genesis Story by looking at Genesis chapter 18.
Today we are concentrating on the topic, “Are you ready for God’s visit?” From verse 1 of Genesis 18, we see that Abraham was sitting at the entrance of his tent in the heat of the day. This was the time that God came to visit him. This goes to tell us that God comes to visit at unexpected times. He can come when you are eating, when you are cooking, when you are washing the car, etc., however, as Christians we must be ready for Him to come and visit you at anytime and anywhere; regardless of what you are doing.
The main question is “Are you ready?” Looking at Abraham’s situation, though he was caught by surprise (for a lack of a better word) by God’s visit. He was ready. Most importantly, he was able to decipher that it was God who had come to visit him. As Christians are soul, our spirit and our body must be living for Christ. When you visited at time that you don’t expect, you are ready.
Most importantly, would you be able to know that you are in the presence of God. The only way is if you are in Him; then He will open your eyes and hears to show you. In John 8:47, the Bible says, “Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.” So are you of God? Do you hear His voice?
Before you know and see what God wants to show you, you must recognize His voice. In John 10:27, the Bible says, “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.” An important question to ask yourself is “Do you know the voice of God?” “Can you recognize the words of God/ voice of God?” These are some important questions you must answer.
Now, after reading this message, “Are you ready for God’s Visit?” Prepare! God will surely visit you one day. He may have visited you before, but you were not ready. He will surely visit you once more; so be ready. God bless!
To be able to be well-equipped and ready for God’s visitation, you must be a child of God. If you are not a child of God and you would like to be one; kindly repeat the prayer below with all sincerity.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
