The Genesis Story: Part 62- Go The Extra Mile For God!

Bible Reading: Genesis 18 Memory Verse: Genesis 18: 6&7 So Abraham hurried into the tent to Sarah. “Quick,” he said, “get three seahs of the finest flour and knead it and bake some bread. Then he ran to herd and selected a choice, tender calf and gave it to a servant, who hurried to prepare it. Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! Hope you are all doing well! Sammie's Daily Dose is back from a short break. As we approach a new year, let me be the first to say Happy New Year. May this year be filled with increase, joy and laughter. May this be a year of strengthening our relationship with God. Hallelujah!

Today is going to be another double dose day. We are still continuing our journey through Genesis 18. This first dose would be drawn from verses six and seven. Today’s message is a continuation of Wednesday’s message on being ready for a visit from God. Now, we would be looking at going the extra mile for God. From verses 6 and 7 of Genesis 18, we see that Abraham invited the three men to rest in his camp. Then, he went on to tell his wife, Sarah, to bake some bread and he got one of his servants to prepare the meat he had selected from his herd. When I read these verses, I am awed by the amount of thought and effort Abraham went through to make his visitors feel comfortable. Do you know the amount of time it takes to knead and bake bread? How about to careful prepare meat? These food- making processes takes a long time to do. Yet, Abraham wanted to do so. The most important question for u now is, “Are you willing to God the extra mile for God?” just like Abraham, when God visits you; are you willing to do everything possible to multiple lengths to make sure that He feels welcome and comfortable? When you go the extra mile for God, He is willing to go the extra mile for you too. We saw this, when the Lord asked Abraham about Sodom. Abraham pleaded, and God heard his cry. What aspect of your life do you want God to the extra mile for? Have you been going the extra mile for Him? In this case, the extra mile could mean paying your tithe regularly and on time. It means sacrificing a few more minutes in prayer and meditation. It means sacrificing yourself for His will. Do you do this? Are you ready to do this? Have a chat with yourself and reflect on your walk with Christ so far! What can you say for yourself? If you haven’t, I would urge you to start. If you already go the extra mile, continue; your breakthrough is closer than you think. God is going the extra mile for you. It is processing. There would be an outflow soon. God bless you. Do you want to have a father who has your back all the time? Then your answer is God. To join this awesome family, kindly say this prayer with a sincere heart. Dear Lord, I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen. If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children. Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are; 1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful. 2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually. I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah! - Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you! This is the end of the sixty-second Part of the Genesis Story. How did you find it?
