Bible Reading: Genesis 19
Memory Verse: Genesis 19: 20 & 21
Look, here is a town near enough to run to, and it is small. Let me flee to it- it is very small, isn’t it? Then my life will be spared.”
He said to him, “Very well, I will grant this request too; I will not overthrow the town you speak of.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing this lovely morning? We have come to the end of our study in Genesis 19. Today, we would be taking a closer look at verse 20 and 21, under the theme: “He is an understanding God!” Let us get right into it.
In the middle part of Genesis 19, we are told of how the two angels instructed Lot and his family to go to the mountains. However, Lot saw that it would be impossible for he and his family to do so. In verses 19 and 20, Lot requested to be allowed to go to a small nearby town, instead of the mountains. In verse 21, we see that God was very understanding and allowed them to settle in this small town. Yet, God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, just as He had said.
Today, I write to remind you of and tell you about God’s understanding nature. The only ticket to unleash God’s understanding is your diligence and dedicated work. This work is not for Him, but to Him. When as Christians we do this, we use this as a medium of exchange for our pleas to be heard.
When you have a plea to God (after He has made a decision), you must use your work to God as a reminder to Him of your trust and dependence in Him. God would then be reminded of you and hear your pleas. God is an understanding God; however, He decides whether to accept it or not. He does this based on what He knows is right for you or not. Do not be quick to blame God for it or turn your backs away from God just because it didn’t go as planned.
God takes decisions with His children in mind. He would never take any decision that is meant to harm us. He does it for our good. Even the very harsh ones, He gives us several warnings and fore-warnings. It is up to us to heed to these warnings and change. Most at times, God’s warnings and fore- warnings are ignored by us and when we are punished for it; we are quick to blame Him.
God is an understanding God. He is faithful to those who are faithful to Him. In the same breath, He is understanding to those who are understanding of Him and out Him first. God bless all. Thank you for following this week’s journey through Genesis chapter 19. I pray, and I hope that you have taken at least one important lesson from these messages. God richly bless you for reading each day. I pray that each day you read Sammie’s Daily Dose you will be filled with the Holy Spirit. Remember to keep His Word and practice them. Shalom.
To everyone who is looking for someone to understand them and be there for you, then you are about to start a relationship with the right person. Repeat this short prayer with all sincerity in your hearts. God is waiting for you with opened arms.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
