Bible Reading: Genesis 20
Memory Verse: Genesis 20: 17
Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his slave girls so they could have children again
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! Let me start by saying, “Happy New Month.” We are already in the second month of 2019. The days are really going fast. I pray that in this new month, there would be a continuity of God’s hand in your life. I pray that you continue receive miracles and surprises. Amen!
Today is the last day of our journey through Genesis 20. We are looking at the most sacred thing we are to do as Christians. Let us get right into it.
As I read this verse over and over again, one thing struck me! The fact that when Sarah was living in Abimelech’s house, God had made all the women of his household to be barren. This means that Abimelech would not be able to have children neither would anyone in his kingdom. Through this, not only is God wiping away Abimelech’s family, but also all the families Gerar. If the barrenness had continued, there would have come a time where Gerar would be extinct. This is very serious. There would have been no legacy for the king of Abimelech.
God gave us a sacred task to do- BE FRUITFUL AND MULTIPLY. The ability to have a child is one of the sacred things God has commanded. God wants us to be fruitful and multiple so that His Word can be spread through them. This is because we are to train a child in the way s/he is to go. If you teach a child about Christ, it is a generational thing. S/He will also teach their children and other people around them. That is why marriage and child bearing are important and the only two sacred thing God commanded us to do.
Do not take this lightly as Christians. Now, the enemy is introducing so many things to reduce child birth or discourage child birth. Do not be trapped by these tactics.
As we end this journey, I would like to encourage anyone who has been inspired the whole week or by today’s message and wants to join God’s family to do so now. Through this short prayer, you will be able to join God’s awesome family.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom. Have a lovely weekend and Happy New Month once again.
