The Genesis Story: Part 76- "Opened Eyes"

Bible Reading: Genesis 21

Memory Verse: Genesis 21: 19

Then God opened her eyes and she saw a well of water. So she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink.”

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? We are almost done with our journey through Genesis 21. I hope you have enjoyed the messages throughout the week. Today, we would be looking at the theme “Opened eyes.”

From the memory verse, we see that God opened Hagar’s eyes through the Holy Spirit. Due to this, she was able to see the well and she was able to give her so water to drink. Today’s message is a call for Christians to have their eyes opened.

If God had not opened Hagar’s eyes, would she have been able to see the well up ahead? No. She would have willowed in her sadness and probably left her son alone in the dessert. This could have caused her to move in the other direction; the opposite side of the well. Because god opened her eyes, she had the ability to know what the direction was ahead but also to take to get to the place ahead.

My dear brothers and sisters in Christ, when God opens your eyes, you would know the direction in which you should take, your end goal and breakthroughs. Today, I pray that each and every single of you reading this message would have their eyes opened. You have your eyes opened to decipher good from evil. You would have your eyes opened to see the future end game. You will have your eyes opened so that you know the right decision to make in your life. You will have your eyes open so that you know the correct path to walk on. Hallelujah!

Now, it is time to walk in the Faith that your eyes are opened and act upon it. Once Hagar saw the well, she acted. She went straight ahead to the well to fetch water for her son. Whatever God shows you now, do well to follow it. If you don’t follow God’s will, He can leave you. The enemy can then take advantage of this for his agenda. Always be sure to follow God’s direction and use the Bible to confirm whatever you see. God bless you!

If you are reading this message and you are tired of not knowing what to do in your life or what direction to take in your life, then this message is for you. Say this prayer with all sincerity in your heart and mind and accept Christ to be your Lord and personal Savior.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
