The Genesis Story: Part 77- They meant it for evil; my God meant it for my GOOD!!

Bible Reading: Genesis 21

Memory Verse: Genesis 21: 18

Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Hope you are doing well! We are finally at the end of our journey through Genesis 21. Wow!! Have you enjoyed the journey? What are some of things you have learnt? Do share! To crown the whole journey, we would be looking at the theme, “They meant it for evil, but God meant it for my good.”

Throughout the previous verses we have looked at during the week, we saw that Sarah (after giving birth to Isaac) told Abraham to let his son Ishmael and his mother, Hagar, to leave their camp. We established that Sarah was jealous and made that decision out of spite.

Sarah thought that by doing this, Ishmael would not get to inherit anything from Abraham. She didn’t care whatever happened to Ishmael. All she wanted was to know that he was nowhere near her son. From today’s verse, we see that God promised to make Ishmael into a great nation; despite all the hardships he and his mother were facing (after being sacked from their home).

Today, I would like to tell you that whatever the enemy might plan for your evil, God is changing it. He is making it for your good. The enemy may hurt you, he may bring you pain, he may bring you suffering. Just know that God has something awesome planned for you. The enemy might have planned it to destroy you, my brother, my sister, God has a different plan. It may seem very difficult now but trust me the end is going to be so rosy that it overrides all that you have been through. So stand up, don’t be sad and let the devil take advantage of you. Know that the God you serve, loves you so much that He would not allow anyone or anything to harm you. He meant it for your good. My God meant it for your good. Your God meant it for your good. Our God meant it for your good. Hallelujah!

Rejoice today for you know this truth, my dear brother and sister in Christ. This is just the testing and preparation phase to the greater things God has in store for you. Keep trusting and holding on to His promise; for this season shall pass. Hallelujah! Just remember, no matter what the enemy planned for your disaster; God planned it for your good. Hallelujah! Rejoice and give God the glory! Give Him a loud shout of praise. God bless you!

If you are reading this message for the first time, and you have been blessed or you have a strong desire/ will to know more about the God we are talking about; then this prayer is for you. Kindly say this prayer with all sincerity in your heart and mind.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
