The Genesis Story: Part 82- You will be Honored and Favored; no matter where you go!

Bible Reading: Genesis 23

Memory verse: Genesis 23: 6b

You are a mighty prince among us.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Did you get the chance to read yesterday’s message? What did you learn from it? Did it inspire you? Yesterday’s message encouraged me and brought warmth to my heart. Today, we are moving on to another theme. It is titled, “You will be honoured and favoured no matter where you go.”

From the verse we are paying particular attention to, we see that Abraham was regarded as a “mighty prince.” Abraham was a Jew and he had asked the Hittites for some land to bury his wife, Sarah, after she passed away. He was referred to as a mighty prince and was offered any tomb he wanted.

Today, God wants you to know that wherever you not only would you be honoured; you will find favour amongst men. This is regardless of where you go. An enemy territory or your home country. Every step that you take, you take it with God by your side. He will not anything bad happen to you.

This is a reward to all those who diligently seek Him and follow Him. You might ask yourself why is this so? Well, when you diligently follow God, He will direct your path. He will lead you to the place you have to go. When you follow His directions, He would have prepared a place for you before you arrive. By God preparing a place, you be honoured and favoured by the people already inhabiting in or around this place. That’s how awesome it is to follow God’s direction.

If Abraham was not following God’s direction, do you think the Hittites would have respected him? I don’t think so. He was at the right place at the right time.

With this title, a lot of you would be expecting that when you go to certain places, people will refer to you as a prince. That’s not what I am saying. That may happen, depending on what God’s plan for your life is. Well, I am saying that in every aspect of your life you will be honoured and find favour. Have you ever gone for a job interview and you know it didn’t go as planned; yet you receive employment? This is an example of the honour and favour I am speaking of now. It happens in the things we find very little and most of the time gloss over or attribute to our might.

Take a few minutes to reflect. Even in this year, there are some things that might not have worked in your favour but ended up being. There might have been a difficult situation, but God pulled you through. There might have been a time where you thought you were going to fail; God pulled you through. These are the classic examples of God honouring and favouring you for your diligent work.

Finally, I would like to encourage you. It may seem like it’s the end of the road; it may seem like there’s no place to go; no one to lean on. Just know that God is setting it all in place for you. He has been with you from the beginning. He is still with you. Just continue to trust in Him. He is about to shower favour and honour upon you for your diligently work. Hallelujah! God bless you all.

The prayer below is for anyone who is tired of life’s battles; anyone who feels like a loser in all aspects of their lives. God is calling you into His family; full of joy, laughter, peace and victory. Kindly say this short prayer with all sincerity in your heart.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
