Special Post: Embracing Your Calling!!

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? Today’s message was inspired by a conversation I had with a friend a few days ago. This lady has given me a lot of support and encouragement over the past almost-one-year of Sammie’s Daily Dose. I thank God for her life. God richly bless her and everyone who has been a constant support (by reading each day or sending me encouraging comments.)

Many Christians have the desire to work for God, however, they do not. They come up with many reasons to justify the fact that they do not do anything for God. At the same time, they feel horrible for not doing God’s work.

Starting Sammie’s Daily Dose was a decision I almost didn’t take. Like most Christians, I came up with thousands of reasons not to start. “Would people read the messages?” “Am I sure it’s God who is telling me to start this project?” “Is my writing style good?” “I should have listened to mummy when she told me to read more books!” These are a few questions and thoughts that became barriers.

For days, these thoughts and questions, slowly filled me up. the idea of starting Sammie’s Daily Dose was becoming more and more unpleasant. This journey, I did not share with any one- not even my mother whom I tell everything. One day, I decided to pray and ask God to help me answer the questions I have. And He did. He told me that He will be writing for me and that I should not worry.

After getting confirmation, I did everything at once. I spent a day writing the first message and designing the website. I didn’t not wait. Why? Well, I didn’t want the enemy to get a chance to feed my mind with other negative thoughts. Immediately I was done, I launched Sammie’s Daily Dose. I will tell you I have never felt more fulfilled in my life. I was so happy and joyous. I was honored to do God’s work.

What made me even more excited was that I was spreading the Word but in my own way. I always used to feel bad about not going on missions. Anytime I did plan to share the Word of God with someone. I get very scared. I have found a way that suits me best. This goes to say that God calls people to do things that they are most comfortable doing. No one’s mission on earth is the same. Just as we are not all created the same. After launching Sammie’s Daily Dose, it has been an incredible journey. There are ups and downs and many battles you have to fight when you start obeying God and following Him. The enemy makes you number one on his radar. We are conquerors. We have won; however, it is not easy. But with every battle comes a strategy. God uniquely communicates the strategy to you.

There are few things I have learnt and would like to share with all of you.

  1. Present your numerous questions and thoughts to God.

  2. Do not give the enemy the space.

  3. Listen to the advice you give others; most of the time, it is for you.

  4. Relax

  5. Give your all

  6. There will be battles. Brace yourself. Rise up and fight the enemy.

  7. Heeding to your call is the most fulfilling thing you will ever do.

  8. It helps you to identify and understand your purpose.

  9. There is a lot of joy and blessings attached to it.

  10. Most importantly, have fun doing it. Have fun spreading the Word of God and showing the world how great your Father in Heaven is.

  11. This is a personal decision/ path. Be careful of the people you share it with. People are not always who they seem.

I hope this story inspires you. I pray that from my story, you too will start your own. God bless you all. I pray that God strengthens you as you being a journey embracing your calling. Enjoy the journey. God bless you all.
