Bible Reading: Genesis 26
Memory Verse: Genesis 26:7
When the men of that place asked him about his wife, he said, “She is my sister,” because he was afraid to say, “She is my wife.” He thought, “The men of this place might kill me on account of Rebekah, because she is beautiful.”
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Unfortunately, yesterday, I couldn’t post a dose. I apologize greatly for that. Today, we are continuing the series with a full blast. Today we are exploring the “Consequences of fear.” I pray that this message would inspire you. God bless.
From the memory verse that we are paying attention to, we are told that Isaac denied who Rebekah was (to him) because he was afraid of the repercussions of the truth. A lot of us act the same way that Isaac did. We may not deny our family members, however, our actions or words towards certain things are as a result of fear.
As Christians, fear is not a part of us. However, it is one of the tools/ strategies of the enemy that every Christian goes through. It is how you handle the fear that matters. You can give in to the fear or conquer it. God has given you and I, all the necessary “equipments” to overcome fear and overcome the devil. You just have to recognize the power you have and use it. Surprisingly, most Christians do not even know or understand the amount of power God has given His children.
When you give in to fear, not only have you allowed the enemy to win; you have delved deeper into another trap of the enemy which is “lying.” The fear you experience, causes you to get drawn to telling lies. Once you lie about one thing, the tendency to tell a few more lies to cover up the original lie increases.
The enemy uses fear as a tool to stop us from receiving our breakthrough, from telling the truth and from doing God’s will. When we give in to fear, we are not able to receive God’s blessings. This makes God very unhappy. This is sin.
In Psalm 55:22, the Bible says, “Cast your burden on the Lord, and He will sustain you; He will never permit the righteous to be moved.” I advise that anytime you have fears; direct it to God. Ask Him to take that burden off you and give you peace and rest. When you ask God to take the burden; ask Him to answer all the questions you have about the fears you have. Trust me! God will answer! He did that for me when I had fears about starting Sammie’s Daily Dose. He will do the same for you. Hallelujah!
Fear is something we can all overcome; with the help of God. There are also many people who underestimate “fear.” They think that fear is a very simple thing to overcome. Trust me! It is not always very simple and easy. You can’t fight it with your own might and strength. The enemy is smarter than you think. Cast all these fears to God, He will provide you strategic solutions and answers that the enemy never saw coming. God is a very interesting and humorous God. Don’t try and think for Him or take decisions for Him. He is all -knowing and all-seeing. The wisest God in the whole universe. God bless you all.
The prayer below is for anyone who has been struggling with fear. By praying this short prayer, you have received the help that you need.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
