Bible Reading: Genesis 27
Bible Verse: Genesis 27: 42 & 43
When Rebekah was told what her older son Esau had said to him, “Your brother Esau is planning to avenge himself by killing you.
Now then, my son do what I say: Flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? I am doing well. I have enjoyed this exciting week; I hope you enjoyed it. I have learnt so many things from these messages the Holy Spirit authored. As we end this week, let us explore one last theme from the Genesis 27: God protects us from the schemes of the enemy.
From the verses we are looking at, it is evident that Esau had plans to kill his brother, Jacob, after their father had passed away. However, their mother, Rebekah, heard of Esau’s plans and alerted Jacob. She told him to flee from their town to her brother’s town.
In this context, Rebekah symbolizes God. God always knows of the enemy’s plan and he alerts us about it. Not only does He alert us; He instructs us to safety. God always gives us a heads up about the enemy’s plans to destroy us. He also gives us a way out. We just have to listen to Him and act upon it.
Just as Rebekah alerted Jacob and then alerted him to safety (her brother's home). Rebekah, who gave her instructs based on her perceptions; our God gives instructs knowing what the future holds. He always instructs you to a better place; a place for nuturing or a place of breakthroughs. Hallelujah!
In 2 Timothy 4:18, the Bible tells us that “The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.” Just like this verse and many other verses in the Bible, God tells us, His children, that He is watching over us. He promises that He will never let anything harmful come our way.
Today’s message is just a very short piece to remind you of God’s love for you. He will never let any harm come before you! All you and I have to do is continue to trust Him and follow Him diligently.
You might be going through a very painful and terrible situation; you may feel that God was not there for you. You may think that He has brought harm your way. Trust me!! He hasn’t. what you are going through now is the best situation happening to you now. You may not see that now. But in a few years to come, you will appreciate it and thank God for His ways. For now, the journey is not easy. It is very tough but keep on trusting in God. He will never fail you. He has preserved you from something worse than what you are going through. Lift up your burden to God and He will soothe your heart. Never forget; this pain is temporary. There is joy coming in the morning! Hallelujah!
The prayer below is for anyone and everyone who wants to feel free and is tired of living a life full of pain and hurt. God is waiting to embrace you. He has been waiting for your arrival. I will urge each and every person interested in saying this prayer, to say it with sincerity in their hearts.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
