Topic: Have you seen the full picture?

Bible Reading: Genesis 28

Memory Verse: Genesis 28: 13

There above it stood the Lord, and he said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying…”

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? We are continuing this week’s journey through Genesis 28 in full blast!!! I am very excited. I hope you are too! It is the 100th message in the Genesis Story series. Huurrraayyy!!!!!!! Today, we are exploring the dreams God gives us! Let us get right into it!!

From Genesis 28:13, we see that God appeared to Jacob in a dream (at the beginning of his journey). In the dream, God told Jacob of the plans He had for him. Before you embark on an assignment or a calling, God shows you the full picture. He shows you how the end is going to look like.

I have heard many Christians argue against this. They do not understand why God shows us the big picture; at times, He makes us wait for long periods before it comes to pass. Well, God does this to encourage us; as we go through our trials and tribulations. As humans, we usually hold on to things we have seen, heard or felt.

God being so great and wise; knows this! He knows that it gets very difficult at times to stay focused on Him and keep living in faith. This is the reason behind the dreams we have; of the “full picture” (as I call it). It is to help us, humans, grasp on to something that we can attest to; to help us continue in the fight against the enemy. If not, we would all get weary and loose hope.

God knows what is best for us, His children. He would not do anything that is not harm us, but rather, to help.

Throughout the Bible, we see that as everyone chosen by God to embark on assignment was either told the “full picture” or they saw it in a dream. This is one of the signs you have to look out for to know if what you are doing is from God or otherwise. It is important to ask the question, “Have I seen the full picture?”

Being truthful in answering this question is very important in ensuring that you stay on God’s path. It helps you to identify and figure out your relationship with God. It can be the powder keg to a wonderful and fruitful relationship with God. It can also be a powder keg to destruction.

As Christians, we must clearly and effectively communicate with God by reading our Bible and praying without ceasing. I pray that the Holy Spirit empowers you and guides you to live a Christ-like life. Hallelujah!

The prayer below is for anyone who seems to have veered-off God’s plan for them. God is waiting with arms opened wide; ready to embrace you. You just have to make the decision to ask for His Help. When you decide to, say this short prayer with all sincerity in your heart.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
