The Genesis Story: Part 101- We are a Mightier Generation!!

Topic: We are a Mightier Generation!!

Bible Reading: Genesis 28

Memory Verse: Genesis 28:14

"Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring."

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! I hope you are having a wonderful morning. I would like to take this time to say a huge “Thank you” to everyone who has been reading a dose each day. I very grateful and appreciative of the time you spend each day reading Sammie's Daily Dose. God bless you!

Today’s message is a very interesting one! We would be talking about how we are a mightier generation. You might wonder what I am talking about or the angle I am going to be discussing this topic?! Well, I pray you open up your hearts and mind to this awesome message. Let us get right into the dose!

Taking a look at the memory verse for the day, we see that in Jacob’s dream, God makes a covenant with him. God tells him that his descendants would be so many; they are comparable to the dust of the earth. Jacob’s descendants would be found all over the earth- from the north to the south, the east to the west. Is this not awesome?

As spiritual sons and daughters of Jacob, we are part of this covenant. Is this not amazing? That is why as Christians, regardless of our denomination, must stay united and humble; keeping our focus on God. However, in reality, the opposite occurs. This is very sad; because under the covenant, we all are descendants of Jacob (regardless of the denomination we find ourselves under).

Do you remember in Genesis 17 (which we looked at a few weeks ago), we saw that God also made a covenant with Abraham? Yes! He did! The covenant God made with Abraham was that He (God) was going to make him the father of many nations. As Christians, we are spiritual heirs of this covenant- just like the covenant God made with Jacob.

The title of this dose is “We are a Mightier Generation!” because Jacob’s covenant with God was an upgrade to the covenant Abraham had with God. The magnitude and intensity of the generational spread is greater. Today, God wants me to inform you that with every generation born on earth, He modifies the covenant and makes it greater. Therefore, we are a MIGHTIER GENERATION. When I heard this, I was so overjoyed and fulfilled.

I have greater power, greater strength over the enemy. I have a greater reward and a greater blessing from God. This is the same for you, as a child of God. All you and I have to do is to walk in the Favor, the blessings and the glory of God. We must embrace His Word and rejoice for we are a MIGHTIER GENERATION. Woooooowww!!! Just scream and shout and dance; jubilate. God has equipped you and empowered you to do everything and anything He has called you to do. Hallelujah!

Now, I want us to take a quick look at Genesis 28:13b, which says; “I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying.” Here, God is telling us that He will give us our enemy’s land.

The covenant between God and Abraham also had a similar clause. One thing about this statement that struck me, was the fact that they were lands that both persons (Jacob and Abraham) were resting or relaxing on! In this chapter, we see that Jacob was lying down and resting after his journey.

God wants me to tell you that He will give you a land that gives you rest. A land that is peaceful. A land that is just right for you! Hallelujah!

Now, do you feel and understand why we are a MIGHTIER GENERATION? I pray that today’s dose has encouraged you and uplifted your soul. I was overjoyed as I typed the message out; I hope you are too! AMEN!

The prayer below is for anyone who feels lost or unworthy of life. There is someone bigger and greater than any human being or any power on earth. He is calling you to join His family. You have to make the choice and be sincere about it.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
