Bible Reading: Genesis 28
Memory verse: Genesis 28: 15
“I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.”
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? How have you enjoyed this week’s doses so far? Personally, I have enjoyed them. Each dose is better than the previous. I pray that these daily messages speak to you and impact your lives.
Today, we are continuing our journey through Genesis 28; specifically verse 15. We would be looking at one of the main promises God gave to us, His children. The promise of being with us through everything; till our calling or our land is fruitful. Let us get right into today’s dose of Biblical medicine.
From Genesis 28 verse 15, we see God speaking directly to Jacob in a dream. Here, God made a promise to always be by Jacob’s side; until Jacob returns to the land He showed him.
There is a very important thing I want us to pay attention to. It is the fact that God clearly states in His Word that He is going to be with us, through it all. The good times and the bad times; until we have accomplished our calling or made our land fruitful.
My question now, is to Christians all over the world; "Why do you doubt God’s own words?” “Why are you quick to resort to other measures during tough times?” “Why do we blame God for our hardships and toil?” I see from articles and I hear people around me ask God very outrageous questions. "Is it that we don’t have faith in Christ?"
Previously, I used to think that Christians with alot of questions (and accusations about God) were sinful; simply because they do not acknowledge God’s own words. His promise that He will be with us and watch over us. I realized that it was their faith level and their diligence in seeking God was the problem.
There are a lot of Christians who do not have faith in God, in Christ and in the Holy Spirit. They do not believe that Christ died to take away their sins; on the third day, He resurrected. This comes from the many doubts and questions many Christians have which are being fueled by worldly pleasures.
Also, many Christians do not diligently seek Him. Many Christians are at fault with regards to this issue; even I. We love to call ourselves Christians; however, we are not prepared to sacrifice our time and resources to learn more about Him. To listen to Him; communicate with Him and to build a relationship with Him.
With these two blockades, it is difficult to be focused on God when difficult times come up. God knew this before-hand. That is why He told us that He will be with us and watch over us. God knows that making the decision to follow Him and obey His commandments is not an easy task. That is why He gave us a solution: - He presence and protection.
This is a very important note I would like to point out. These words have been said and written in direct speech. It is something God said explicitly Himself. Not through the Holy Spirit or through His Son, Jesus Christ. This goes to show you the gravity and the seriousness of this promise.
Now, I would like to urge each and every one of you to deliberately and consciously remember these words from God. You could paste His words by your bed side or in your notebooks or on flashcards which you can carry around. These words must sink into your mind and your heart so that you will be strengthened each day.
Also, God has left us with a helper- the Holy Spirit. I would urge you to confide in him. Ask Him for help in areas you are weak in; be it working on faith or seeking God. The Holy Spirit will give you the right strategy to achieve these. He is always available to you. You must make the decision to accept help and call on Him, humbly. Hallelujah!
The prayer below is for anyone who is scared of running. You have been running your whole life; you are tired. You are looking for someone to protect you and be with you. Well, God is here for you. He is waiting for you with arms open wide. All you have to do is to make that decision to be His children and sincerely praying this prayer.
There is no formula to saying this praying. Be true to yourself and come to God just as you are! Hallelujah!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
Please spend some time praying for Sammie’s Daily Dose to continue to be the platform for the sharing of The Gospel. Amen.
