Topic: I am Redeemed!
Bible Reading: Genesis 31
Memory Verse: Genesis 31:9
“So God has taken away your father’s livestock and has given them to me.”
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? How has your day been so far? I am excited for today’s message; I hope you are too! Today, we are continuing with the Genesis story! Looking at Jacob’s story, we are going to explore the theme; “I am redeemed.”
From the verse under review, we see that God redeemed Jacob with his master, Laban’s wealth and even more. This happened after Laban and his sons were jealous of Jacob. From yesterday’s message, it was evident that they resented Jacob. Laban’s attitude towards Jacob changed because he thought Jacob had betrayed him and abused his kindness.
What they failed to realise is that, God had favoured Jacob. Many Christians face this situation as well. When God blesses us, the people around us who helped us up; feel threatened. Why should that be so? Are we not all Christians?
God redeemed Jacob by giving him Laban’s livestock. God will do it in ways you never thought could be possible. He will do it in a way that all will say, “Yes indeed! You serve a Mighty and living God!” Be like Jacob, be humble and grounded in Christ and He will never forsake you!
Well, God redeems his people. Today’s message aims at encouraging one another! There are people who are in the same situation as Jacob found himself. Just know that no matter what happens; God is there with you and for you! You may be facing backlash from friends or even family members; or people you thought will never treat you in a malicious or evil way. Just wait! God is about to give you something bigger or greater than you have ever imagined.
You will be redeemed. This would happen both in the physical world with riches and wealth, and also, in the spiritual world, where you are closer to God and have a stronger relationship with Him. Do not look at your present situation and take your eyes off God. He surely is with you.
Imagine if Jacob was very apologetic for his wealth and did everything in his means to be in the good books of Laban. What do you think would have happen? Would God have redeemed him in greater and mightier folds? No!
This is a test! Every child of God is tested to see if they will serve God even through the toughest of times; through backlash from people you love the most. How would your story end? Would you pass the test like Jacob? Or will you give God up to enjoy the pleasures of this world? Just know that the decision is yours to make. But God’s promises never fail!
Today’s message is a very brief one! I just want to encourage someone to continue in faith. I may be very difficult, but God has given us a helper, The Holy Spirit, to guide us through our most challenging times. He has given us the strength to go through the test. He left His word to sooth us and give us hope. He gave us his son to allow us to communicate with him on a personal level.
This test could be physical (like Jacob’s) or spiritual; just know that you are blessed and highly favoured. You are redeemed. God has set you free from any and everything orchestrated against you. Against all the selfish plans of people who are being used as vessels by the enemy to see you fail. God bless you all!
The prayer below is for anyone who is feeling discouraged by the circumstances around him or her. Know that God is waiting to set you free; for you are redeemed. He is waiting for you with arms open wide. Just make that decision.
Dear Lord,I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
1.Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
2.Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out.
Hallelujah!
-Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
