God said to him, “Your name is Jacob, but you will no longer be called Jacob; your name will be Israel. “So he named him Israel…

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? How has your morning been? Mine has been awesome! I hope yours has been the same! Today, is the last day of our journey through Genesis 35. This week has been a wonderful week; full of great messages. I will say that each message spoke to me directly. I hope it did same for you as well! Today, we are looking at how God honor’s them! Let us have a look at this in today’s message.

Taking a look at the memory verse, we see that God honored Jacob by blessing Him with a great nation. This was sealed off by the change in his name from Jacob to Israel. Israel was the father of God’s chosen nation. This was a reward of his diligent service to God. Do you diligently seek and serve God? Do you answer His call without any hesitations or questions?

The questions mentioned above are some of the important questions we must ask ourselves; as we walk with God each day! Many Christians are always blaming God for not honoring them or blessing them. Have you ever asked yourself if you deserve it? Just because you are a question does not mean you deserve it! Do not get me wrong. There are some “automatic” blessings that we all receive as God’s children.

If you do not work for the blessing or breakthrough by diligently seeking God and following His Word; do not expect anything. Do you receive your salary or annual bonuses at work if you do not work hard? Or do you get an A in school, if you do not study hard? In everything we do, both spiritually and physically, you must have to work hard for it.

Nothing in this world is easy. If you diligently seek God, He would honor you. Would you not like to be honored by God? I can tell you that is a great feeling! Look at how God blessed Israel? Would it not be wonderful to be honored in such a grand way?

I would like you to urge you to invest sometime with God. Spend time praying, learning and listening to God. Do not just sit back and think everything will be automatic. That’s not how it works! Put some effort and your effort will be rewarded. Hallelujah!

The prayer below is for anyone who does not feel important or honored. God is here to help you feel this way! His love for us never fails. Just make the decision to follow Him. Hallelujah!

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you
