The Genesis Story: Part 124- God Blesses us all!

Topic: God’s blessings are for us all!

Bible Reading: Genesis 36

Memory Verse: Genesis 36: 1

This is the account of the family line of Esau (that is, Edom)

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? It is a new week and I am excited about it! I hope you are too! Today, we are starting another journey-through Genesis 36. This journey is going to be an interesting one. We would be exploring the descendants of Edom. Let us get right into the first message of the week.

From the verse, we see that God had blessed Esau by making him the father of Edom; just as he made Jacob the father of Israel. Well, Esau’s blessings were not as big as Jacob’s, but this goes to show you that God blesses us all. The magnitude of the blessing is based on your diligent walk with Him. If you dedicate more time and effort to serving God; He would do same for you.

I see many Christians who live a care-free life because they know that God is going to bless them in one way or another. But is that what you want? Do you want to live your life with a small blessing or you want to live your life a great blessing? This decision is up to you. Many people see the amount of work they have to do and just decide to fall back. Do you want Edom, or you want Israel?

When you continue to read Genesis 36, you see that Jacob’s descendants ruled over Edom for a few generations. Israel came to take over the land! Yes, God blesses us all; your service and dedication to God defines not only the magnitude but also the longevity of your blessing. Just as we have seen with Esau’s blessing (and Jacob’s as well).

Imagine if Esau had followed God his whole life! How do you think his blessing would have been? Would it have been greater than just Edom? Well, these are questions we would have to ask God. But I am sure we have a fair idea of the answer.

Today, I just want to encourage you (and I); do not focus on the amount of work you have to do for God. Do it from a place of joy and gladness; for the reward God has for you would blow your mind and will be relevant for many generations to come. You children would get to enjoy it and your children’s children! Yes, God blesses us all as His children. Do you want a “Tier 1” blessing or you want a “Tier 5” blessing? Make that decision and work towards it. God’s Word never fails. He will act upon His Word. Hallelujah!

I would also like to use this opportunity to plead with you to live a Christ-like life. There are too many Christians living out there in the world, that are not making any impact(s). They just call themselves Christians and act the opposite way. I would to encourage you to allow the Holy Spirit to fill you and guide. Immerse yourself in God’s Word and listen to Him. Amen!

The prayer is below is for anyone who has lived a life full of pain and hurt. You have never enjoyed a reward or blessing! God is calling you today, to lift that burden of pain and hurt; to bring to peace and joy! Make that decision now! God is ready to welcome you into His family with open arms.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
