The Genesis Story: Part 125- Living an Abundant Life!

Topic: Living an abundant life!

Bible Reading: Genesis 36

Memory Verse: Genesis 36: 6

Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the members of his household, as well as his livestock and all his other animals and all the goods he had acquired in Canaan, and moved to a land some distance from his brother Jacob.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen. How are you all doing? Hope you are doing well! This morning, we are continuing our journey through Genesis 36. Today, we would be looking at abundance! Do you know what abundance means? Have you experienced an abundant life? Or do you have an aspect of your life that is in abundance? Well, let us look at how and when, you and I can live an abundant life!

From the memory verse we are looking at (Genesis 36:6), we see that Jacob and Esau were living in an abundance of wealth (they had a vast number of livestock and other animals); so much so, that they could not continue to live in the same place. In this message, we would be focusing on Esau’s side of the story; compared to Jacob.

We all know that Jacob took his brother’s blessing and left home. The Bible does not give us a lot of information about Esau’s life in Canaan. From what we see in this verse, it shows that Esau’s wealth grew abundantly; it could be compared to that of his brother, Esau.

Well, today, we are talking about the keys to an abundant life or ways to receive an abundant life. Today’s message is one to reassure each and every one reading this message. You and I do not know the plans of God. We do not know how or when He is going to bring something our way or even bless us. His timings are unknown to man! Do not feel angry or jealous of someone else’s life. Look at Esau, did he know that he would also live a wealthy life by living in Canaan? Did he know that his riches would grow to a point that is comparable to his brother? No!

In the same realm, just trust that God is doing the right thing in your life. He would not let anything harm you! God loves us so much! He knows what is best for us. You may be like Esau; your destiny has been stolen from you. Your blessing has been taken away from you. But is telling you to continue to look up to Him. He is going to restore you in mighty and abundant folds. Do not feel sad or jealous of someone. Do feel anger or hatred towards other people. God is working something out for you!

You can use this verse as a reminder of what God can do; no matter the circumstance. After all, He is the Kings of Kings and the Lord of Lords. He is the ruler and maker of the heavens and the earth. What can he not do? Trust in Him and look up to
