The Genesis Story: Part 126- I am not Forgotten!

Topic: I am not forgotten!

Bible Reading: Genesis 36

Memory Verse: Genesis 36: 9

This is the account of the family line of Esau the father of the Edomites un the hill country of Seir.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Well, I am fine by God’s Grace. We are at the middle of the week; are you excited? Ready for the weekend? I am! Today, we would be looking at a similar verse, as that of Monday’s message. However, today’s message is different from Monday’s. Let us get right into it!

So today, we would be looking at different verses; the main one being Genesis 36:9. This memory verse tells us of God’s blessing over Esau and his descendants. He made Esau the father of the Edomites. Well, on Monday, we looked at blessings; today, we are looking at the theme “I am not forgotten!”

When we take a look at Genesis 27, we see how Jacob stole his brother’s blessings and run away from his home in Canaan. Imagine how you would have felt in that situation? Would you blame God? What would you do in such a situation? What thoughts would be running through your mind?

I know that I will think that all hope is lost. I would wonder what would happen to me without my father’s blessing. Would I be lost? I would feel abandoned by both fathers, God and my earthly father. I would feel forgotten by God. I would attribute my failures and hardships to this event. These are some of the thoughts and feelings some of us may have as well.

Today, God just wants to give you this message, “You are not forgotten!” God never forgets his children. No matter how long you think it is taking; God has not forgotten you. He never forgets His children. How could He? He loves us so much; He would never leave our side. Today, like all the message sent so far, I would like to encourage you to keep looking up to God. You are not forgotten. You are being prepared. See this as a waiting period.

During this waiting period, God will test you. This is to see if you will be able to handle everything God has planned for you. Look at Esau, all the years he was living in Canaan, God was preparing him to be the father of Edom. God was also preparing him and teaching him how to keep a vast amount of wealth. Everyone’s process is different.

Someone’s blessing/ reward might come on early; others would have to wait decades and for others months. God knows the best time for each person. Do not be discouraged. Do not feel alone or feel abandoned and forgotten. God is preparing something great for you! Hallelujah!

The prayer below is for anyone who has been feeling abandoned, alone or forgotten. God’s is big and wide. It covers all this emptiness you feel. Just make the decision to follow his ways! Say this short prayer with all sincerity in your heart.

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!

  • Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!
