Topic: Your age does not matter to God!
Bible Reading: Genesis 37
Memory Verse: Genesis 37:2b
Joseph, a young man of seventeen, was tending the flocks with his brothers…
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing! How has your day been (so far)? Mine has been awesome by God’s Grace. Sammie’s Daily Dose is late this week! I apologize for that! However, we thank God for giving us His Grace and mercy to post today’s message. Today, we continue with the Genesis Story. We begin Joseph’s journey from this chapter. Let us get right into it.
From the memory verse, we see that a young man named Joseph was tending to the flock with his brothers. This young man was doing what every young man in those days were doing- helping out in the field or helping to take care of the flock. From the verse, we see Joseph is mentioned by his name; however, his brothers were not. This was the first sign the Bible shows us that Joseph was chosen by God.
How old are you now? When did God start speaking to you? Well, look back to when you were seventeen years old! What were you doing? Do you remember all the mischievous things you were up to? I remember when I was seventeen. I was a senior at my high school. I was feeling very happy about it. I had no cares and no worries in the world. Left all the thinking to my parents. What of you? Be truthful to yourself!
Well, Joseph first started hearing from God, at the age of seventeen. Imagine how it would feel to hear from God and be chosen by God at such a young day? That was have been exciting and scary at the same time.
This message is not to make anyone feel bad for not haven heard from God by the age of seventeen or as a young adult. This message is to show you that age is not a factor for God. Throughout the Bible, we see that God has called people from a variety of age ranges. Whether you are young or old, God is not interested in that. All He is interested in is your readiness and willingness to obey Him and follow His ways.
God starts to speak to us for various reasons and through various means. He calls you when He knows that you are ready for what He has in store. This could be when you were seventeen or could be at the age of thirty, forty or even sixty. There are many people in the Bible that God called in their old age. Their age did not make them less great! Their did not block their blessings! Do not think it is too late or too early. God called you at the right time! Do not look at someone else’s life and compare yours to his/ hers! The course of your life is going just as planned! Hallelujah!
The prayer below is for anyone who thinks that they have not lived their lives in the right way. The prayer is also for anyone who has lost their way and wants to come to the right path. The answer/ solution you have been looking for is found in God. Make that decision and come to him.
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Always remember to show love to everyone, as this is one of the most important commandments God left for us – “Love your neighbor as yourself.” In every situation, before you take a decision, remember WWJD (What Would Jesus Do). Shalom.
