Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? Ready to begin another week filled with Christ? This week we would be looking at Genesis 37. About two weeks ago, we began to look at this chapter; however, we did not complete it. This week we going to go through it. In today’s message, we would be looking at how to be God’s favourite child. Do you know that you are God’s favourite? Do you think you are God’s favourite? Well, let us find out!
With reference to our memory verse, we are told that Israel loved Joseph more than his other sons. This shows us that Joseph was the favorite. As a favorite child, what are some of the perks you receive? Well, you parents are always on your side no matter what! They go out of their way to do things for you! You always receive the best things! Most importantly, you are loved more and shown love more! Am I right? Do I have any favorite children attesting to this?
Well, I expect that everyone reading this would attest to this. Why? Well, the reason is very simple- we are all God’s favourite! All those who know me, know that I do not take this very lightly. I always tell my friends that I am God’s favourite. They always smile and think I am being silly! But I am very serious. I believe and I know that I am God’s favourite. With every situation I face or with every request I have, I know that I would be answered in greater fold. Why? Because I know that I am God’s favourite! He will make sure that I am happy and comfortable. He will make sure that I am blessed. He will make sure that I am loved. He will make sure that I lack nothing! He will make sure that I can see and feel the love He has for me.
There are many Christians who don’t believe they are God’s favourite! Take a step back and evaluate your life. Has God not been gracious to you? Even in your difficult times? He has! By virtue of accepting Christ as your Lord and personal saver; you become God’s favourite. Why? Well, God loves us all- whether Christian or non- Christian. In 1 John 4:9-11, we read that God’s love for man (Christian and non-Christian), He sent his only Son to die on the cross for us. The fact that you have repented shows that you have accepted God’s love; thus, He can enjoy an even greater love! Is that not awesome.
Thanks to this greater love we experience as Christians, we enjoy the benefits of being a favourite. You get to enjoy unlimited time with God. God blesses you immensely for your dedication and love towards Him. He is there for you 24/7. He has made you a conqueror. You have won every battle against the enemy. Is that not awesome! Is it! The perks of being God’s favourite! So now, whet do you think? Do you agree with me that we are God’s favourite? The prayer below is for anyone who does not feel loved and anyone who is missing this awesome time as God’s favourite. It is not late to join us! Just make that decision. God is ready to accept you; when you are ready. He does not force any one to come into His presence/ family. Make that decision now!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board. You can now be exempted from the wrath of the enemy and of God. Not only do you experience this, but your whole family as well. Wow! Isn’t the God you serve so cool? He is. Not only do you enjoy this, but you enjoy other blessings God has in store for His children.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
