Topic: Who are You to the people around you?

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? I hope your day has started off wonderfully! How have you been enjoying Sammie’s Daily Dose so far? Do not forget to share your thoughts, lessons and feedback with us! Also, do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question or want some clarification on a particular topic! We are happy to help!!
Today, we are exploring who we are to the people around us!! It is easy to say that you possess particular character traits! That’s great! However, the focus of this message is to identify your weakness and working on them. This would enable you to relate to others better. Most importantly, you would be able to live a Christ-like life.
Though we strive to be Christ-like, we are not perfect! There are several things that we need to improve upon. Not only for ourselves for others. This is because our lifestyle/ way of living is also a mechanism for spreading the Gospel. What better way to tell someone about God than to show it through (the way you live) your life. We see this in 1 Peter 2:12. In this verse, we are told, “Keep your conduct among the Gentiles honorable, so that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day of visitation.”
There are some people who are ignorant of the way people think of them. This should not be so! We must be caring towards everyone and love them. In this case, we are not saying that you should fully depend on people’s opinions of you or strive hard for people’s approval. In Proverbs 29:25, the Bible tells us that “It is dangerous to be concerned with what others think of you…” Well, truth be told, we all need people around us. It is important to build relationships as we move on in life! It is important that we work on ourselves so that it is reflected on others! By doing this, the right people would be in your circle at all times.
Not only is it important to know who you are around people because it is a tool for evangelism; people are directed by God to help us in our point of need. At times, God speaks to us through people. At times, a solution to a problem you are going through can be given by a person close to you. Do not take people for granted! So, who are you to the people around you?
To be able to be a better person to the people around you, you must spend time working on yourself. How would you do this? You must invest time in reading God’s Word, communicating with and waiting upon Him. With these, you heart and your mind would be transformed. This transformation would have a multiplier effect on every aspect of your life; including your character (even your physical appearance at times).
Take a step back! Assess yourself by asking yourself this important question, “Would I like to be around a person like me?” As you are answering this question, take your time to visit every aspect of your life! Do not be afraid or ashamed to own up to the negative things. It is very important that you identify both the positives and the negatives. So that with the help of the Holy Spirit, you may be able to develop yourself better.
Are you ready to enrich yourself? Many people disregard this conversation. Some Christians do not even believe or understand the importance of people. In living a Christ- like life, it is important factor this! Let me ask: “Who was Christ to the people who knew Him and were around Him?” Do you think that your life and Christ’s is similar? That is for you to think about! Christ is the standard! You must live your life accordingly.
On this note, have a wonderful day and year. May your day be filled with joy. Who are you to the people around you? Kind? Understanding? Confident? Loving? Caring?
God Bless!
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out. Hallelujah!
