The Genesis Story: Part 151- You are Delivered!

Topic: The Genesis Story: Part 151- You are Delivered!

Bible Reading: Genesis 48

Memory Verse: Genesis 48:16a

The Angel who has delivered me from all harm…

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? I hope you had a great weekend indoors. I hope everyone is safe and taking good care of themselves. This time is a great opportunity to relax and detox at home! Most importantly, it is a time to spend more time with God!

Today, we continue the Genesis Story with Part 151. Today, we would be using Genesis 48 to highlight the theme: You are delivered! Hallelujah! In two weeks, the Genesis Story series would come to an end! Do you have any suggestion on the next book in the Bible, we should move on to? Well, reach out and let us know!

Now, let us get right into the message!

In difficult times, many people are riddled with fear and anguish; they forget God’s Word and promises! During this COVID-19 pandemic, I know of some Christians who were consumed with so much fear. They checked updates regularly. Bought the necessary equipments that have been advised to have (hand santizers, face masks, gloves, etc.) These people knew everything going on with this pandemic, at each time of the day!

This behavior is very bad! However, very natural for the human! That should not be the case! As Christians, we must cast all our fears and burdens to God- Philippians 4: 6-7. In 1 Peter 5:7, the Bible says, “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” Why are you worrying? Why do you fret? God’s word is final! It has never failed. Stop worrying! God cares about you and would not like to see anything harm you!

The figures presented on the media, seem to show a rise in number of coronavirus cases and deaths around the world. This should not make you scared. Once you become scared, you have given the enemy an opportunity to the battle. Do not give him that chance! Do not give him the pleasure of knowing that he is a winner! You are a conqueror! Once you have prayed, let your Faith drive your actions and your words. Hallelujah!

Most importantly, you must know that YOU ARE DELIEVERED from it all! Yes! Our Father in Heaven is our deliverer! He promises to deliver us from all evil and all harm! Why not take the Word of our heavenly Father? I know and I have faith that I am delivered from all evil and any harmful thing that may come my way! Today, the Holy Spirit wants to urge you; most importantly, He wants to remind many of God’s promise to us all. Hallelujah!

In Genesis 48 verse 8, we see Jacob blessing his son, Joseph! He said, “the Angel who has delivered me from all harm…” In this case, he was referring to God. This was an experiential statement. He had experienced God’s deliverance over ever obstacle in his life. This happened so many years ago! Evidence of God’s deliverance and His promise of deliverance are shown throughout the Bible – Psalm 32:7, Psalm 34:4, Psalm 34:17, Psalm 107:6,

1 John 5:4-5

(Kindly take each of these verses; read them and meditate on them. Let them act as a reminder of God’s word!)

Today, pray a prayer of Faith! Know in your heart that God has delivered you from all the negative things of this world (including COVID-19). Much this Faith, with desperation, and watch yourself conquer every obstacle that comes your way- even this pandemic! Hallelujah! God has done it before, and He will do it again! Amen.

Have a wonderful day! And though you are delivered; continue to protect yourself by following the health guidelines provided by the national health agencies. Though you have prayed for God to deliver you; do your part as well- that matters too.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

  1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

  2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out
