Topic: The Genesis Story: Part 156- “Your blessing is based upon your capabilities!”
Bible Reading: Genesis 49
Verses of the day: Genesis 49: 22- 24
Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen! How are you all doing? We are drawing closer to the end of another week; I hope your week has been good. I pray that your hope in restored or in the process of being restored as we go through this pandemic. All around the world, there are signs/ plans of things going back to “normal.” I pray that all the things that you have learnt or the things the Holy Spirit has brought to your attention; would not be left behind! Hallelujah!
Today, we continue the Genesis Story by focusing on blessings. Do you (sometimes) realize that people’s blessings are different from yours? Ready to learn more about the blessings you receive from God? Let us get right into it!
There are many people who thing or believe that the test in which they are going through is too big for them to handle. They tend to compare their struggles with others and concluded that that all hope is lost. That is not the case. In 1 Corinthians 10 verse 13b, the Bible tells us he would let you be tempted (in this case, tested) beyond what you can bear.
Most of the time, we are quick to give up or loose up because we have not discovered ourselves. A lot of people do not know their strengths. They do not know what they are made of. Once you are going through a particular test, God knows you have the capability to handle it. You may not know at that point in time! As you go through, you realise you are well-equipped for the jobs. That is why we do not go through the tests. We all do not have the same capabilities.
Just as your tests are based on your capabilities; so is your blessing. Your capability is the key to your test and your blessings! So, do not take who you are for granted. Stay true to yourself and stop comparing yourself (and your situation) to others. Your blessings are dependent on it. Many Christians spend their whole lives chasing for a blessing that is not theirs. They do not focus on their purpose; it costs them.
In Genesis 49 verses 22 to 24, Jacob is blessing his son, Joseph. We see that his blessing was based on his ability to successfully overcome all his trials and temptations. He was able to do so because of his capabilities (and God’s help). That is why Joseph was chosen. God knew he was the best person to do it! For that, his blessing/ reward is based on his capability.
Today, the Holy Spirit wants to remind you of certain things;
Do not give up; you are the right person to go through the situation.
Be true to yourself; do not compare yourself to others
Your blessings come from your capabilities
My dear brother or sister in Christ, know who you are in Christ and let that influence who you are as a person. He has given each and every single one of us, a set of capabilities. No one’s combination is the same! Everyone’s goal and purpose on earth is different! Discover and know yours! Learn to attain the goal! That is very important! Hallelujah!
I hope that you have learnt a thing or two in today’s message. Feel free to contact us, if you have any questions or comments. We would love to hear from you. Continue to stay safe and keep following the guidelines provided by the respective health agencies. God bless!
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
