Daniel's Dose: Adventure 31- "Are you in tune with God (and His Word)? [Part 1]

Topic: Daniel’s Dose: Adventure 31- “Are you in- tune with God? (Part 1)- A reflective piece, inspired by the book of Daniel.

Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? How was your weekend? I hope it was great; full of joy and laughter! How has your day been so far? I pray it has been good! Today’s message is a short, reflective piece. The Holy Spirit is asking you one simple (yet difficult) question, ‘Are you in tune with God?” Are you ready for today’s piece?

Let us get right into the message!

When we are asked, “Are you in tune with God?” what comes to mind? Do you begin to wonder what your answer will be? Or are you certain of your answer? In each circumstance, why do you react this way?

How would you describe your relationship with God? What excites you about your relationship with God? If you are struggling to answer this question; there is a huge possibility that you are not in tune with God! It most probably means that you do not invest time in knowing God for yourself. You are most probably living a “lukewarm” Christian life or what I refer to as “the happy-go-lucky” life! It is time to change!

When you start developing a relationship with God! You begin to understand (and know) the things that He expects of us! Transformation of the body, mind and heart begins to take place! Why? Well, as you continue to spend more time with God; you get filled with His Spirit. As you continue to spend more time in the Spirit; you get to hear God clearer (than before). You appreciate who He is! You understand who He truly is! You are in- tune with God!

To be in tune with God, you must sacrifice your comforts and pleasures and seek Him (wholeheartedly). It is a choice! There are many people you see around who claim to be in tune with God! Do not depend on them! Depend on God for yourself! Spend time with Him! Get to know Him some more, so that you can be in tune with Him; for yourself! That is important! This is because this walk with Christ is an individual journey! Nowadays, a lot of people have misplaced priorities! They depend on pastors, prophets, apostles, etc. entirely! They do not go to God for anything! Yet, the claim to be doing God’s will and in-tune with God! Is that truly the case? There needs to be change in the church! Rise up! Rise up fellow Christian!

When we are in-tune with God and His word, our way of living is different from the norm! Look at Daniel, he was in-tune with God, so much so that when he was made governor (Daniel 6); he distinguished himself from all the governors and satraps (v3). That is what it is like to be in tune with God! He works on your character! You do not act like other people! No! why? Because your mind and your heart are transformed by the Holy Spirit! You live a righteous life! Everything you do is right! Whether at the work place, in school, in church or anywhere else; you live right! You live a life; pleasing to God!

You become more patient, more kind, more forgiving, braver; the list of qualities and character traits are endless! As you spend more and more time in God’s presence and allow Him in, you make a difference wherever you find yourself! This is what opens doors for you! After all, it is your character that maintains and grows things!

Being in tune with God, does not only affect work or school; it affects your marriage, your relationship with friends, colleagues; it affects your relationship with your family members and many other aspects of life! Are you experiencing some difficulty or challenge in an area of your life? Then go back to God! Spend quality time in His presence! Look at how God transform you and everything in your life!

He is a just and fair God! You reap what you sow! You cannot reap great things from God; if you do not sow/ sacrifice your time, heart and mind to Him. The key is to be consistent! Spend a few minutes each day in His presence! As you grow in Christ, you will be drawn to spend more time with Him! It is not a race! It is a journey! God is not looking at who gets to the finish line first! He is looking at your heart; your intent!

It is time to be completely honest with yourself! It is time to work on your relationship with God! You have been too relaxed! Christians have been too relaxed! If you do not take the step, who will! How would the world be a better place!

“Are you in tune with God (and His Word)?”

Stay tuned for Part 2 tomorrow! God bless you all!

Today’s prayer:

Dear Lord,

I thank you for my life. I thank you for giving me another beautiful day. I ask that you guide me and protect me. I pray that I will choose you in every situation that I face. And that my life will be a testimony and an example to many that I have Christ living in me. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son to die on the cross and wipe my sins away. I lift your name high for you are Alpha and Omega. Amen!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
