Topic: Esther’s Glory: Issue 7- What is your decision- Chosen or Forgotten?

Bible Reading: Esther 4

Memory Verse: Esther 4:14a&b (NKJV)

For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish.

Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? How has your week been so far? It is already the middle of the week! Any new and amazing events happening in your life? Any testimonies? We give God all the Glory and Honor; for all that He is doing in our lives, and what He is about to do!

Today, we are continuing with our series, Esther’s Glory! In today’s message, the Holy Spirit is reminding us that as Christians, we have to make an important decision- to be chosen or be forgotten. As children of God, we have a specific task to help in accomplishing the vision- God’s vision! God grooms, prepares and equips us for these tasks; God leaves us to make the ultimate decision- whether to obey Him and carry out the task or not. When we make the later decision, God raises someone else to perform the task, then we are left to face the repercussions.

Throughout our Christians lives, God directs our path (if we follow him) and gives us opportunities to grow in Him! All this is for His kingdom and His Glory! At times, we allow our successes to overshadow God’s light! We begin to feel like our success is based on our own might. When we get to this stage, it is very difficult to listen to God. When that happens, we are not able to accomplish the task God intended for us to do! We get caught up in the present and forget that with God, there is more ahead! When we focus on ourselves and the comfort we enjoy at the moment, we deny ourselves from being “chosen” by God! With that, in no time, we become forgotten and we suffer badly from this decision.

God chooses us to accomplish a particular task because He knows we are equipped to do it! At times, we let our flesh (and our fears) dictate our decisions. What we forget to acknowledge God; who is behind everything we do and have! We forget that all we do is to give Him Glory! Another thing we forget is that once God receives His Glory, we get to enjoy a bit of it! That small portion of the Glory we enjoy, it is a large leap for man! Our rewards with God are even greater!

When we go on, listening to our flesh, God raises someone else to do that particular task. However, there are some repercussions that we have to face! We become forgotten! Why? Soon, the comfort that you feel (in your current state) would all go away. Things of the flesh are temporary! That is why we always have to remain in Christ and with Christ! If not, you soon become irrelevant and useless in our ever-changing world. With our flesh that always craves for things, we may be forced to sin against God; just to feel comfortable once again. This leads to death. This is because in Romans 6:23, the Bible helps us to understand that “the wages of sin is death…” Death may not happen physically immediately; however the “reward” of sin, is a dead spirit.

In today’s memory verse, we see Mordecai tell Esther that she has to make a decision- either to be the chosen one to help the Jews out of their crisis or enjoy her “temporary” reign as Queen and face the repercussions. Just like Esther, we would have to make that tough decision one day! [I pray that once you are confronted by such a situation, you are reminded of this message!] I hope that we all make the right decision! We should not look at our current situation or successes; those, have come your way because you are backed by God! We must never make the mistake of leaving His presence ever! I pray that God strengthens us to take such important and crucial decisions.

God is a very merciful God! He has given us the space to make a decision! We should never take Him for granted. Always remember that you can either be CHOSEN by God or FORGOTTEN by Him!

God bless you!

Prayer Points:

1. Ask God to reveal Himself to you.

2. Ask for the in-filling of the Holy Spirit.

3. Ask God to prepare your heart; to help you trust in Him

4. Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with strength to make hard decisions.

5. Ask God to help you due subdue your flesh and remain firmly grounded in Him.

6. Ask God to help you see the future and not only the present.

End with a time of praise and worship!

Have a wonderful evening and let God inspire you!

Today’s prayer:

Dear Lord,

I thank you for my life. I thank you for giving me another beautiful day. I ask that you guide me and protect me. I pray that I will choose you in every situation that I face. And that my life will be a testimony and an example to many that I have Christ living in me. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son to die on the cross and wipe my sins away. I lift your name high for you are Alpha and Omega. Amen!

IMPORTANT NOTE!!!

The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!

Dear Lord,

I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.

If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
