Lesson 2: God uplifts His Children!
Good evening ladies and gentlemen! How has your week been? I pray that you have had a week full of joy and peace. Today, we continue the mini-series we started on Tuesday. We would be taking the second lesson- inspired by the lives of Joseph and Daniel. [This message is a continuation of Tuesday’s message.]
So far, in this series, we have learnt that as Christians, it is important to pass the “Humility” test. This is a test we would all experience. The test requires us to acknowledge God’s presence and power over our lives. It requires that we proclaim who He is and what He can do! Once we are able to pass this test; God, in turn, acknowledges us and rewards us. How do you think God rewards His children?
God rewards us (after passing our test); by uplifting us! In this case, upliftment means that God takes us to another level- higher than what we previously were or ever imagined to be. Like Tuesday’s message, we would be using examples from the lives of Daniel and Joseph to show how God rewards His faithful children- by uplifting them.
In Genesis 41:39-44, the Bible recounts the time whereby Pharaoh appointed Joseph as the ruler of Egypt. God moved Joseph from where he was (with his father) to the ruler of a nation- Egypt. During those times, Egypt was one of the most powerful countries in the world.
Joseph was uplifted because he had passed his “humility” test. Genesis 41:39 shows this- Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, “Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are.” From this verse, we see that Pharaoh promoted Joseph because of his ability to pass the “humility” test. Pharaoh saw exactly how Joseph was “special”; thanks to the God he (Joseph) served and acknowledged.
From this, we must always remember that God rewards His children. The reward for passing the “humility” test is upliftment- God will take you from the level you are; to a much higher/ better level. Is this something you want to enjoy? Then, you must live a life pleasing to God! Acknowledging who He is in everything we do!
Let us look at the example given to us in Daniel’s story. In Daniel 2:46, we see that once Daniel had interpreted the king’s dream- like Pharaoh- acknowledged God’s power. The king, also, acknowledged how “special” Daniel was; because of the God he served. The Bible says that the king fell down before Daniel and honored him.
In verse 48 of the same chapter in Daniel, we see that the king “placed Daniel in a high position…” This promotion was as a result of Daniel successful completion of the “humility” test. Yet again, this is a clear example of God rewarding His children, for honoring Him! In Daniel’s case, he took him from being a simple man from Israel (a people that faced persecution) to a man in a high position.
God can do the same for you! The question is, “Do you fear Him?” “Do you acknowledge Him in everything you do?” These are very important questions we have to not only answer but act upon! Are you ready to?
Prayer Points:
1. Ask God to reveal Himself to you.
2. Ask God to prepare your heart.
3. Ask for strength.
4. Ask that God to equip you and help you through difficult times.
5. Ask God to help you to humble yourself
6. Ask for help from the Holy Spirit.
End with a time of praise and worship!
Have a wonderful evening and let God inspire you!
Today’s prayer:
Dear Lord,
I thank you for my life. I thank you for giving me another beautiful day. I ask that you guide me and protect me. I pray that I will choose you in every situation that I face. And that my life will be a testimony and an example to many that I have Christ living in me. Thank you, Lord, for sending your son to die on the cross and wipe my sins away. I lift your name high for you are Alpha and Omega. Amen!
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
