Bible Reading: Genesis 3 Memory Verse: Genesis 3:1a Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God made. Hello everyone! Good afternoon! I pray you are having a wonderful day. I am because God is about to do great things in my life. What about you. Over the weekend, I posted the article “Christians Arise.” I hope it was a form of encouragement to you. This month God said He was raising His army. I hope you will want to be part of this army and make yourself available to him. Today, we are going to look at our nature. Yes, our nature. Our nature is what influences our character. So we must be careful of our nature. There are a lot of things we take for granted and we say are our nature. That is wrong. For example, there are so many things that we do that people attribute to the nature of people of a particular tribe. This is wrong. When you are a child of God, you know longer have this kind of nature. We have the nature of Christ. My mum is someone to quickly stop anyone from finishing a sentence which attributes anything to the tribe she is from. She always would say that she has Christ on. I used to think she was overdoing it. She has a point. Some of these things are strongholds in our life. Some of the spiritual battles we face are caused by these; that we have accepted. Today’s message is trying to help you to make the decision to conscientiously have a good nature. The nature of Christ. For example; you see a fair lady in Ghana, everyone is quick to say that she is either Ewe or Ga. You will hear the statement, “ These Ewe/Ga people that’s how they are.” No. If that’s how they are, great. But you are a child of God and you have been made his image. Being conscientious about your nature is somewhat quite difficult. This is because a lot of us cannot identify our nature and our character. From research it shows that nature is received from birth and character is not. Research tells us that nature is not changeable but character traits can be taught and learnt. I believe this is not so. I believe that with God both your character and your nature can be transformed. It is just a matter of you asking God to take over and allow He to use you. Then He will transform every single thing about to. Nature is very important, like I said before because the enemy can use this. When we look at our Bible reading, it said that the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals. It is due to our nature that at times the enemy uses us. That’s why it is important to be a child of God. When you are a child of God, you have a new identity and the enemy would not use you nor would you be easily swayed by the enemy. Due to the crafty nature of the serpent, the enemy used it as the point of contact to Eve (and eventually Adam). Such cases are still going on as we speak. I want to draw your mind to one thing. Have a look at the memory verse one more time! Do you see something weird about it? Take a look again. Think about it for a few seconds. Do you see it now? Well, the odd thing is about the wording of the verse. Do you know that it is incorrect to say “more crafty?” Yup! It is. The word is “Craftier.” You might say, “God’s word is Ye and Amen, He would not make a mistake with His English.” Some of you might say that God invented the language so why would His Word not follow the rules of something He created. Well, it is written this way because God wants us to focus on the nature of the serpent. He was trying to tell us that the nature of the serpent was one of a kind. It was not a normal thing. He wanted us to see the type of people or things the enemy uses. People that do not have a “normal” nature. They are people who have an exaggerated nature. The more crafty God used it is not a mistake, it is emphasis how crafty the serpent was. Unfortunately, a lot of Christians do not even read the Bible to be able see some of these things. Anyways, this is to tell you to be careful of the people surrounding you. This is also to tell you to pray for yourself, cover yourself with the blood of Christ every day. This is so that the enemy would not out smart you. Amen. Now, you must take the decision. Do you want to have a new identity in Christ or not? If you do, the next question I ask is “Do you have Christ in your heart?” If your answer is no, please take some time off to pray this short prayer. Dear Lord, I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you Lord. Amen. If you said this prayer, congratulations! You are now part of God’s family. Heaven is jubilating by your welcome. Hallelujah! Now that you are in Christ, the Bible says that you are a new creation; the old has past and the new has come. Hallelujah! God has given you a new identity. God has changed your nature, your character, your attitude, your mindset, everything about you. You have an identity like Christ. Amen. I would encourage you to get yourself a Bible- in a version that you understand. Read it constantly. By doing this, you would be able to know and understand God better; as well as grow Spiritually. I will encourage you to find a Bible- believing church to attend, so that you can fellowship with other Christians. If your answers to the previous questions were both yes, then I urge you to pray and commit yourselves to God’s hands. Ask Him to totally come and take over your life. Confess your sins and ask Him to come and dwell in your heart. It is important to be baptized by Immersion. It is a symbol in the spiritual realms that you have put on Christ. I will talk more about this in one of the messages to come. If possible, I would advise you to talk to people from your respective churches about your desire to do a water baptism or baptism by immersion. They would take you through all the classes you need and all the things you need. Hallelujah! - Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you. Dear Lord, I thank you for this day. I pray that you protect me and my family this night. In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen. This is the end of the sixth part of the Genesis Story. How did you find it?
