Bible Reading: Genesis 44

Then Judah went up to him and said: “Pardon your servant, my lord, let me speak a word to my lord. Do not be angry with your servant, though you are equal to Pharaoh himself."
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? What did you think about yesterday’s message? Did you learn a few things from the message? You can share your thoughts and beliefs with us; by simply contacting us. We are happy to help you in any way we can.
Today, we are continuing the Genesis Story by looking at the topic: “Are you ready for the task? Rise up!” We are going to take a closer look at Judah in this message. Let us get right into the message…
There are many Christians who are just living their lives for the wrong reasons. They are focused on wealth, power and other comforts of the flesh. They do not take up the tasks that God has asked them to do; for various reasons. A common is to be comfortable for themselves and their families. The question is “How do you know that God cannot provide the comfort you seek?”
God has ordered each and every one of us to accomplish a task. The task He has assigned to you, is one that you can do! He never gives us something that is too much for us to bare or too little for us to accomplish. What we have to understand is that God knows us, and we must trust that He is making the right decisions for us. After all, we belong to Him!
With this, let us look at Judah’s actions in Genesis 44. After being sent back with his brothers, Judah stood up to Joseph. He spoke to Joseph and asked that he be imprisoned (not his younger brother). He explained to Joseph the reasons behind his decision. Most importantly, he had the courage and the strength to face the wrath of prison.
In those times, one could not speak to a King or an official without seeking person. Also, one required a lot of strength and courage to face someone as mighty and powerful as Joseph. Judah went ahead to speak to Joseph without any affliction or confliction. He was there to save his brother (and his father). He was prepared to face the consequences.
As Christians, we must be ready to take up the task whenever God calls upon us. When God calls us, we must not be full of doubts and worries because He would have trained you and prepared you for the task. Like Judah you must rise up to the occasion and carry out your task. The main question is “Are you ready?” like Judah, you must be ready and have a willing heart.
As Christians, we must rise up to the occasion! We leave things to chance and take God’s Grace and mercy over our lives for granted! The training/ teaching period is a sensitive time. You must actively learn from your experiences, your situations, you time with God, amongst many others. If not, God would take you through the test over and over again; until to understand and appreciate what you have to learn.
But timing is also very important. There is a season for everything in this world. If you are not ready for it in a particular season, God would raise someone else to take up that position. You would not want this to happen. God knows what you can do and can not do! He knows your hearts’ desires and deepest thoughts. He would give you a task that you can do! Do not worry! Do not be afraid! Rise up!! With a wiling heart, prepare and be ready for the task! Hallelujah! God bless!
IMPORTANT NOTE!!!
The prayer below is for anyone who does not know God or maybe has been apart from God for a while. God is here to pour His favor over your life. All you have to do is call out to Him. Make that decision today!
Dear Lord,
I come to you today as a sinner. I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus is your Son and He came on to this earth to die for my sins. Dear Lord, let your Son come and fill me. Lord, I ask that He cleanses me off my sins. I am ready to stand for you and profess your Name. Thank you, Lord. Amen.
If you repeated this prayer with all the sincerity of your heart, congratulations!! You are now a part of God’s family. Welcome to the greatest family ever. Heaven is jubilating on your arrival. Your fellow brothers and sisters are also excited to have you on board.
Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;
Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.
Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.
I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out
