Our Journey with Christ: Point 6 [Call on Christ!]

Topic: Our Journey with Christ: Point 6- Call on Christ

Good evening, ladies, and gentlemen! Hope you are doing well! It’s been well-over a month since the last post in this series- Our Journey with Christ. By God’s Grace, we returning to the series; with the Holy Spirit’s help, we would complete this series soon. Today is the last day of the month of September- this year has passed by quickly. Most importantly, it is by Grace we are here today! It is by God’s Mercy we are alive! All in all, it is by God’s Grace for making “All things New” this year!

We started this journey to understand our journey with Christ much better. With the help of the Holy Spirit, we have learnt about the Call and Commission (from God), Obedience to the Call, Revelations, Obstacles along our journey and Rewards. In today’s post, we will be understanding when to Call on to Christ in our journey! Are you ready for another awesome post? Well, let us get right into it…

God rewards all who diligently seek Him. Once you make the decision to follow Christ and you obey Him, He is faithful and just to reward you. As we begin to receive our rewards, it is important to go back to God. Why? This is because this period is what we call “a slippery slope.” It is very easy to forget about God because a lot of things would be happening in your favor. Many people begin to attribute their successes to their individual strength and talent. As they begin to rise, they fall back down quickly. They do not have the firm grounding of the God to keep them going.

It is importantly to call out to our Father in the good times, so that we may have the strength to go through the period. Though experiencing good times is sought by all, we must be careful to always have our eyes on Christ and on the purpose for which He has called us. We need to stay grounded in (and focused on) Him. We must always remember to keep God first and be intentional about our relationship with God when we are enjoying the good times. For this can be our make-or-break point. By God’s Grace, we would be careful to diligently seek God always.

Let us look at Abram’s story in Genesis 13. In the first three verses of this chapter, the Bible tells us of Abram’s wealth- Abram was greatly rewarded with livestock, silver, and gold. From Egypt, the Bible says Abram made his way to the place where he first built an altar to God- a place between Bethel and Ai. Here, Abram made sure to go back to God to ensure that He is still in-tune with God- the direction he should go and what he should do next. This was a deliberate action by Abram. He intentionally went to this place to seek God’s face.

Like Abram, we must ensure that we always follow God’s way. We must never go ahead of Him. That’s a recipe for disaster! In all things we must acknowledge God’s presence (and trust in us).

God bless you for reading!

Have a wonderful day and let God inspire you!

Being a child of God is a wonderful thing. The road might not always be easy, but God is with you each and every step of the way. Guiding you, helping you and encouraging up. You will never regret this decision; I can assure you of that. Two things I would recommend for you to do are;

1. Get yourself a Bible (in a version you understand) and meditate on it day and night. In Joshua 1:8, we are told that when you meditate on the Word day and night, you will be prosperous and successful.

2. Find a Bible- believing church to attend and fellowship with other Christians. This would help you grow spiritually.

I am excited that you made this decision. Welcome! If you would like some help or more understanding into anything, you can leave a message (adding your email address) and I would be willing and happy to help you out!
