Our Journey with Christ: Point9- Intercession

Topic: Our Journey with Christ: Point 9- Intercession

Good evening, ladies, and gentlemen! How are you doing? Hope you had an awesome day! As we continue the series “Our Journey with Christ,” we hope that you are gaining some insights to the various phases in a Christian’s life. It is our hope that you have the necessary tools as you go through this journey- knowing that you are not alone, and the holy Spirit has got you covered.

To recap the points we have looked at, remember that this path/ journey refines you to become the best version of you in Christ! Never forget this!

With the help of the Holy Spirit, we have learnt about the Call and Commission (from God), Obedience to the Call, Revelations, Obstacles along our journey, Rewards, calling on to Christ and the ways in which we can navigate dealing with strife, throughout the journey. In today’s post, the Holy Spirit will teach us about Intercession! Yes, as we go along our journey, we are expected to intercede for others!

As Christians, it is important that we intercede for others- other Christians and non- Christians. This must happen throughout our journey, regardless of what phase you are going through! Whether you are experiencing great times or bad times, we must ensure that people across the world get to feel God’s love. Intercession happens in various forms. The most important is prayer, however, you can intercede for others by sowing seeds into their lives, helping them in one way or another, or even sharing your testimony with them. It is very essential. One way we can share the Gospel is through intercession. But please do not mistaken sharing the Gospel and intercession as the same thing- they are not!

In Genesis 18:16-33, we read about Abram interceding for Sodom. From this story, we learn about God’s sovereignty. Most importantly, we see the power of an intercessor and of the children of God. From this story, we see that as children of God, we can intercede for cities, towns and even nations! In fact, we must intercede for all. Once we put our petition for others before God, He is sovereign and just! He would find a way to preserve the lives of the people you intercede for. Some might say that in this case, how was God just in His treatment for Sodom? Well, God responds to our petitions in various ways! But they are the best ways! He cans respond in ways we expect Him to! He can do it in several others! God does not see things from a one-sided angle like we do! God’s actions factors everything- He’s the all-knowing God- and it benefits everyone!

Now, look at your life! Are you living a selfish life? Are your prayers and thoughts focused on yourself, close family, and friends? Who are you interceding for? Who are you helping? Who are you spreading God’s love to? It is important to intercede for others as others intercede for you! God bless you!
