Topic: The Genesis Story: Part 146- It’s time for A Sacrifice!
Bible Reading: Genesis 46
Memory Verse: Genesis 46: 1b
He offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
Good morning ladies and gentlemen! How are you doing? Hope you had a wonderful morning! Though safety measures are toughened up all over the world; I pray that you do not loose faith in God. Continue to trust in Him. Continue to spend time with Him! Continue to follow the guidelines provided by the WHO and the health organisations of your respective countries.
Today, Sammie’s Daily Dose is back with Part 146 of the Genesis Story. We would be looking at the act of sacrifices. Today, the Holy Spirit wants to encourage us to offer sacrifices unto God; during this uneasy period! Are you ready for the message? Well, let us get right into the message!
A lot of people assume that there is no need to offer sacrifices to God! Well! These people are correct to an extent. We do not offer sacrifices unto like in the Old Testament- slaughtering and burning animals to the heavens. However, we still offer sacrifices unto God. There are several by which we do so! There is no correct formula or guide to this!
Offering sacrifices could be done through financial commitments, time-sacrifices, jobs, etc. The sacrifices offered to God, differ from person to person. The Holy Spirit has to direct you into what kind of sacrifice to offer. A sacrifice can be a peace offering to God or an intercessory symbol. This is the time we all need to offer sacrifices on to God. Some sacrifices are used to call upon God attention; just like in Jacob’s situation.
In Genesis 46, we see that Jacob travelled with (all) his belongings to meet his son, Joseph. Once he offered a sacrifice to God; God spoke to Him. God’s words were reassuring. God’s words provided direction and comfort. During these times, we need to ask God to comfort us and give us direction. Just like He did for Jacob. We need to rise up and offer sacrifices unto God. He would answer you!
Today’s message is a very short one! I pray that it speaks to you and drives you to spend more time with God or support a missions group financially! Let the Holy Spirit guard your hearts and help you to offer the right sacrifice. God bless you! Continue to stay safe!
