Pill of the Week: Holy Spirit Teachings
Topic: Pay Attention!
Hello everyone, how are you doing? How’s your day been? Welcome to another week- this is the last week of January! Wow! It has come by quickly! Are you excited for the next month- February? What are some of your goals for the month? How are you going to ensure that you are on track- in achieving all your spiritual goals? As the month ends, think about these things; so that you are prepared for the month to come!
Last week, the Holy Spirit was teaching us about communication. We learnt that there are many phases/ stages to communication! In last week’s pill, we looked at the topic, “recognizing God’s voice?” After taking the pill, did you spend some time reflecting on the message? Did you identify the various ways to improve your walk with Christ? If you have not done so, don’t worry! It is not too late! God is still waiting with arms open wide. Today, we move on to another stage/ phase- LISTENING.
Listening involves two things- hearing and acceptance! One cannot say they have listened to God without hearing Him and accepting all He has said. That is why it is important to recognize God’s voice. So that you may hear and accept the right voice for your life- not the wrong one that may lead you astray!
Hearing means focusing on the voice that speaks to you; to gather the information you’re being told. Acceptance means that you have expressed/ shown consent. Acceptance doesn’t necessarily mean understanding. It means agreeing to whatever you are told. It means preparing yourself to act on what you are told- this is just like in the military. Once a commander instructs, the soldiers follow!
When God speaks, do we act like the soldiers we are supposed to be? Ready to do anything for our Commander and Father? This is what gets to a lot of people! When God speaks to them, they want to use their human understanding to comprehend the instruction. However, it does not work that way! Once God speaks, we must depend on Him for the ability to ran with His words! Once you limit God’s words to your physical understanding; you have allowed the enemy in! How are you going to react to God’s words from now on? It’s time to be self-less for God and not self-full for God! You cannot be a Christian this way!
Without much ado, let us get into the pill of the week! This pill has been prescribed and sent by the Holy Spirit! Here we go…
JOB 33:33-
“If not, listen to me;
Keep silent, and I will teach you wisdom.
We hope that today’s pill encourages you to change your response and reaction to God‘s Words over your life! Make the mindset switch and all God to fully take control!
